Give Japan Type 97 81 mm infantry mortar and Cluster bombs :seemsgood:

Oh for sure, hopefully this sets a good precedent, its nice to not have sloppy seconds from WT this time, at least for a couple items.

Yes cant believe the premiums are more interesting the the entire update… the update is not bad but a bit poorly implemented but we shall see when they release it but it has many interesting ideas in this update so its positive update despite a lot of blunders …

Yeah I liked what the update added, but how its been added, the behaviour of the CM and etc has just been extremely disappointing to see, its kinda killed my mood for a bit, Im thinking I drop the game and pop in against for the next event.

Well at least I’m gonna get my paratroopers one positive thing. Sadly the vehicles are not added in the right BR. But people will use them as they are since for Japan its miles better then the other ground attacker :smiley:

I remember coming across those AA mortars when I was doing research for my AA mega thread. I considered writing a suggestion post about it some point down the line and I’m very happy to see it brought up.

Especially considering what’s coming from the Soviets. And I remember vaguely Japan also had a bunch of other cool little mortars too, some heavy rocket ones which could be a nice alternative to a grenade machine gun, as the buildable structure.

I’m certain the Allies probably have something cool and niche too, so we could see some asymmetric balance and give everyone some funky mortars.

Anyhow I’m always down to see Japan receive new toys!

O yes there is rocket mortars for Japan and anti tank mortars even one that have incendiary shells :smiley:

Squad 44 have very realistic mortars very fun. Here mortar squads are not played at all when was the last time you have seen mortar squad ? (not to mention rocket spam is still better then this or spamming assaulter squads )

Artillery is a call in and event limited
vehicles are premium and toxic
the new automatic mortar is unknown and super toxic
just because its in the game does not mean its not toxic
this would be i am guessing tech tree and faction limited or super toxic

Thats a normal mortar that other factions have simply the ammo is a bit better against infantry and worse against vehicles like the Soviet mortar is better vs tanks but worse against infantry how can it be toxic ?

Or you mean the plane bombs they are also much worse then HIVAR rockets.

both you have a single mortar shell causing multiple downs/kills over a larger are than a single mine shell. or a bomb that can work over a larger area. it a going to be no different than a comparative weapon or b be much better.

and no a slower rate of fire wont help. first with bombs there is no slower fire. second the weakness of mortars is not rof its lack of line of sight. changing a mortar from a gun to a shotgun without loss of range

i mean with mortars they could be balanced but wont. mortars an shoot a long way not familiar but i am betting deep into the gray. if the shotgun mortar was limited to half way into the playable area to two thirds maybe. i dont know how to balance cluster bombs maybe timers or something for sub munitions.

soviet mortars require skill a Japanese shotgun grenades are the exact opposite. it takes skill to hit an tank and fear less to proximity kill a soldier with sub munitions.

This changes nothing since here artillery is not realistic you have range of 100 m and you can hear them shooting so you can easily go with SMG guy and wipe his entire squad go to any other WW 2 game and look how artillery is made like Squad 44 here artillery squads will be useless no matter how much they are buffed exactly to the limitation of 100 m.

This is just a normal mortar that the other factions have how can it be toxic ? I dont get what you mean even the special ammo wont make it toxic it covers bigger area but you will shoot it slower since the shells dont land directly they take time in the air so you can see their parachutes and take cover. Landing on an area will take longer time since do to how they work but yes if you dont hide your squad from them they can wipe big area of land. However you have plenty of time to react find the squad and kill it.

ok how much time would i get 20 second 40 seconds. i am sorry giving me three to six second wont let me get tweedle dee or tweedle dum to cover. yes players can dodge them this wont be a player kiler this is a bod farming weapon.

First you can hear them second you can see them and you know the squad is in a distance of 100 m I mean if you are getting killed by such squad really I dont know what to say… they can defend points or attack points but Assaulter or Guerrilla squad can take them out very easy since you can very easy guess from where they are shooting. Not gonna mention paratroopers that you can land but thats a waste since they dont have huge range since the mortars are limited to 100 m.

Even the new soviet premium squad that all are crying if it doesn’t get an radio operator or second engineer will be very bad squad.
