If you really need a second vehicle just buy 1 day of Premium and then buy the extra squad slot. It will cost like 7 bucks and you keep the extra squad slot forever for all factions of that campaign.
Grind itself without premium is painful enough to make it “worth it” since this game is designed in the same way as WT when it comes to progression (with all its good and bad things which means, that premium exp gain itself is worth a lot). I don´t see why direct gameplay advantage (or a “gap” as you call it) should be present in premium.
There was no point for “Premium” as it is in the first place. Now it has to soak up content that should be in the game to be considered “worth it” which is dumb.
Also, didn’t see that last part. I basically agree with you but that’s what extra squads are, direct gameplay advantages.
I wouldn’t mind Premium squads that much if MM was taking progression into account like in WoT. And you could just buy a Premium squad to experience the mid or end-game right away, which is fine, IMO.
Gaijin just tries to cut way too many corners pushing a stub of a game way too hard and trying to monetize it as much as possible.
You pay for premium - what is it that you are paying for?
Something has to be “worth it” or the game ceases to exist - what is it that people will pay for?
I would pay for exp boost because grind beyond level 13 is painful. For the same reasons I got premium squads in CBT (before realising how OP they really are, I wouldn´t do it otherwise). However, by my moral compass I refuse to buy things that stinks of P2W, so for the time being at least, no premiums from me.
Let me repeat myself. Take a look at WT premium account. It is only the exp boost, yet people buy it to save time and nerves. I bet that more and harder to grind campaigns levels are coming so premium is probably not going to lose its value easily.
Of course, I´m against the idea of giving away free slots just like that. I believe that this should follow same logic with F2P mindset: if you can´t pay in money, you have to pay by your time, thus unlock it through campaign level.
Thinking of which, if such option would be given to F2P, premium slots would partially lose their P2W nature and would be more of an convenience (which is what it should be). So in that situation, I might be fine with those slots being present.
I get your drift - noting that WT premium also has a SL (Silver Lions - basic in game currency) boost - which helps with grind too - Enlisted doesn’t really have an economy, but a Exp boost works on Bronze tickets which is probably the closest equivalent.
SL is when we are talking about slots themselves WTs part of “paying with time.” You have to get SL for those slots first without ruining economy of your account (which is something veterans usually don´t even care about tbh, but newer players have to be mindful of that).
As for the rest, I agree that bronze tickets are pretty much a currency that is affected by the premium after re-introducing them to exp rewards. They are free spins to slot machine lottery (random deliveries), and are needed to purchase other weaponry such as grenades, or backpacks.
Sure, that is rather limited way of using the “currency,” in comparison, but I guess more things will eventually arrive with more campaign levels/campaigns.
When I talk about Premium Squads, I’m not talking about the paid squads, I’m talking about the extra infantry and vehicle squad slot. An extra vehicle squad would have been great especially, for alternating between tank and plane or going from bomber plane to fighter jet.
I have no choice though on the infantry squad, I guess I’d wedge in an Engineer regiment as my 4th so I can deal with aircraft even though they’re not that good from what I remember.
You’re still talking about a shooter. It’s insanely difficult to market stuff for a shooter, but Gaijin’s flat including stuff that should be in the game as perks in the premium. This proves my point, still.
Give them a few slots as campaign unlocks late in the game and even have Premium play off of it by fulfilling their dreams of having all their desired vehicles on one squad loadout at once. It’s not that hard…
You’re saying that a paid feature will lose its value as a paid feature were it be readily available to the public when we’re already in a situation where we have one vehicle squad slot and way too many vehicles to pick from. You’re also saying in your post that if I can pay through time rather than money, I should have it unlocked… Why should I have to choose between 1 plane or 1 tank? I want to be able to have something akin to at least 1 plane and 1 tank or 2 planes as a comp, what’s wrong with giving me what I want?
Having 2 extra slots behind paywall makes the game clearly P2W, with premiun you get double XP on battle which is insane adventage already, premium could also give outfit skins, some weird weapons or whatever, but it shouln´d give such advantega has having 2 more squads to choose from depending on the situation, that should be free due to the game being cataloged as F2P
