These insignia, used by various branches of the German military during WWII, represent the pride, heritage, and commitment of their respective forces. They reflect the traditional symbols of service, honor, and unity within each branch, and are not tied to any offensive ideology when viewed as a part of military.
It would be nice to see some implemented in the game to give more detail.
But Long story short. Helmet patches used to be a thing ( only for us )
Same as rank uniform insignia for both the Germans and western Allies.
But we can’t have effing nice things because gods knows why.
So they just removed them.
Well, those are still in the game resources files as textures, but that’s about it.
Worth to mention, not as extensive as above, and No explanations on why those were removed, and probably we’ll never get one.
Hopefully those might return in an ideal future customization rework, but kinda not a necessity by now ( in spite of my “better” judgements or ideas, as much as the next person that is ).
Now that I remember,
Currently, only the us tanker squads has access to rank on the shoulder.
And that’s about it.
Even the feldgendarmeire were supposed to get the orange insignia patch ( granted, censored like everything else ) but it was removed visually. In the code, it still shows that it’s there.
Anime bad.
So please, im gonna politely ask you to refrain from further posting that stuff.
P.s. no. My profile picture is not anime.
I don’t draw that stuff. I have some deceny.
Or so I tell my self despite visiting this forsaken place almost everyday,
“Even the feldgendarmeire were supposed to get the orange insignia patch ( granted, censored like everything else ) but it was removed visually. In the code, it still shows that it’s there.”
A bit off topic but there is one squad still with orange piping, the 7th anti-tank battalion on the battle of the bulge ONLY.
I share your views.
But Germany’s heritage is being oppressed because of politics. Unlikely to see something like that.
But a little detail such as a censored eagle on caps/helmets and even tricolour can be a thing.
highly doubt it’s because of censorship, since even the US and USSR factions had their patches removed. If I recall correctly, the assault squadrons of the 82nd and 101st Airborne had their respective patch or symbol on their uniforms.
The most logical thing to think is that they removed the patches to save work when modeling the uniforms. Even the German uniform doesn’t have its characteristic eagle on the chest, while some winter hats do.
