I Should of said that I dont mind what you are suggesting anyway.
I was more getting at there are a few types of players, those that like High RPM bullet hose, and those that like slower, steady and precise. I happen to be the latter so looking at from my shoes, lowering the rate of fire wouldnt break the dominance of those weapons for me.
Downtime on reloading, aim down sight and recoil might though
The history of World War II is also the history of the development of automatic weapons. Bolt - action rifles are bound to fall behind automatic weapons. In the intense battles of Enlisted, the importance of fully automatic weapons is self - evident. Therefore, players are more inclined to use sub - machine guns rather than bolt - action rifles. Of course, I can understand that your suggestion is aimed at making the game more balanced.
That is an over simplification!
But there is no point to talk about that, since this is just a game and thus balance must come first.
If we don’t limit the number of automatic weapons a player can have than we need to make sure that there are downsides to full-auto spam.
I did think of a mechanism to solve it, but that was too complicated. I wonder if anyone can come up with good suggestions on limiting the number of weapons.
My thoughts have always been that Dark Force SHOULD have taken the most used weapons of a faction and use the actual real life statistics. For example, if the most used MP 40 model shot 550 rpm then that should be the actual ROF number that the game MP 40 should shoot, and they shouldn’t have the % upgrade in this area. If they had done this with “EVERY” weapon in the game, people wouldn’t have a reason to complain about any weapon because that “IS” what the average weapon really was. There would be no need for people to constantly be suggesting buffs to guns.
To be honest, if they wanted to go back and reset ALL the weapons to their average (not experimental) numbers, I would be fine with it.
