Yes but semi auto on first shot should hit. I don’t say anything against when you shot multiple times and miss.
Eh, that’s not how the in game mechanics work, or how real weapons work (cold bore is a thing), and depends on how well you’re aiming. I’d like to see dispersion for select-fire rifles be less in semi-auto than in full auto, dunno if that’s already a thing. Also, I didn’t notice until after I’d posted my reply that the others had already gotten you through the issue, no disrespect or hostility was intended.
It’s defenity my aim when an enemy walks towards me an d I hit on the body. Dismounted my scope and use Gewehr 43 Sniper as Sniper far better.
FG 42 is still good, it’s just total garbage for anything past 50 meters.
I still run entire squads with it for the simple fact that most engagements happen under 50 meters, you’re rarely at distances where that dispersion genuinely becomes a problem.

I have a squad with FG42s in Normandy and I don’t see a problem on the gun itself other than actually a killing machine.

I have a feeling that OP is focused on the FG42 II sniper rifle. Can’t outfit an entire squad with sniper rifles I could be wrong, but yeah, the FG42 rifle is a great weapon. Not sure if I’m alone in this but when I outfit a sniper with the FG42 II, I 1st remove the scope and use him as a rifleman.
Yeah, the FG42 is a great weapon, and it wouldn’t be OP if it were limited to gunners. Being able to put them on snipers too just exacerbates the spam problem. I can’t deny, it looks fun, and I understand why axis players do it, but it’s damned annoying to fight against a guy who’s stacked his teams with FGs.

FG42 spammers in Berlin can be fought with PPSh as Soviets but Normandy is a different story since the Allies don’t have something other than the Thompsons and the M2 Carbines that were limited by the magazine capacity.

Yeah, the soviet arsenal in berlin has plenty of answers for the FG42, but you’re right, Allies Normandy just … doesn’t. It outranges the Thompson and has lower TTK, it outranges the M2 with a faster TTK and significantly better recoil. Our closet competition for it is the BAR, and we can’t throw enough of those at the wall to make them stick.
TS is probably speaking about sniper FG 42 II which was nerfed heavily with LMG nerf.
If devs didn’t change anything then FG 2 in Normandy really has big dispersion and it’s hard to hit targets on mid-long distances. In Berlin it works fine as first version FG.
i dont see what is the problem here. in normandy i use both kar98 scoped and fg42 II simultaneously for sniper. fg42 II is perfect for close /mid range sniping and when capitalist are running too far ill just switch to kar98 and no problem
This, I think a lot of players confuse that high tier stuff always has to be better. That is also why I mostly use the Kar 98 scoped in Normandy as well, because it is way more reliable than the FG 42 II is (at distance!).
