Unlike other nations in WW2, it was only the Soviet Union that deployed female soldiers in direct combat roles. There are female models in Cuisine Royale which could be ported to Enlisted. At least for this Battle of Moscow or other campaigns set in the Eastern Front.
Not only the USSR but female participation in frontline combat was abysmal if we are taking ratio, this is not to undermine the work females or women did during that time. I’m for it if “Authenticity” is going to be the priority meaning you will see them in specific squads only.
this should be game that features women in front line combat. sniper and pilot class should have female models.
If its specific units:
Sniper
Pilot
Radio Operator
Tank Crew
*Medic - if there are plans to add this similar class
But the total lack of females is also historically inaccurate is it not? I think a good compromise between the “but historical accuracy!!!” crowd and those who want to see women represented could be to have female characters as some notable characters from history be recruitable but very rarely. So a high level player could flex on opponents by having ace pilot Lydia Litvyak or sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko. Obtainable through events like the “crafting events” in war thunder or something.
I literally don’t care as long as they’d have the same hitboxes as males, and the devs don’t go overboard SJW shit.
It would be difficult to add them in a historically accurate and easy to work with (for players) way. You have to remember that this game is using real regiments that fought in the war and have their own recorded history. Some of them may have had female snipers and crews while others did not.
Should they restrict female soldiers from joining certain squads or should they defy history? I think it’s easier to just not have them at all. If they are willing and able to add them in a historically accurate and respectful way, I’m down for that. Otherwise it’s fine without them.
oh god, I hate those crafting events to craft rare tanks/airplanes/ships
Gaijin might really do that Lyudmila Pavlichenko unit similar events, or they could just be rewards for the campaign like its a battle pass premium tier…at worse these “hero” soldiers would be sold premium if not cosmetic.
There is a lot of questionable personalities on the German side but in certain campaign gaijin might get alot of $$$$$ for a Erwin Romel tank commander.
Well, I wouldn’t mind it but I don’t think it should be a priority right now.
They could make women available in premium packs :v
Crafting events are the worst events that could ever happen to war thunder. Crafting events are specifically designed, to be as money demanding and time-consuming, as it is even possible. Adding crafting events here would serve no good, it would only make people judge enlisted in war thunder fashion. The idea of adding such rewards in events is great, but WT style crafting event would be rather harmful.
in my opinion, they should really avoid those type of things.
first of all, the ammount of problems that cames.
( just watch bfv… )
second, i really don’t think they should put effort in changing uniforms hitboxes and other stuff. since yes, womens were fighting. but not many as you might think:
Over 800,000 women served in the Soviet armed forces in World War II, mostly as medics and nurses, which is over 3 percent of total personnel; nearly 200,000 of them were decorated.
compared to:
34,401,807 total that served in World War II
also, voice actors are not cheap as you might thing. especially for free to plays.
and i higly wanna avoid events or bullshits dedicated to this. i really had enough from battlefield v.
but again, this is just my opinion.
