FAQ - "Was that cheating?" checklist

I wonder why I have to load anti-cheat software when I load the game if it can’t be hacked and people can’t cheat. It would seem counter-intuitive to have anti-cheat software.

I already did:

Besides:

If someone claims he has seen Bigfoot while showing as proof just a picture of himself at the zoo with a gorilla, do I need to show him the actual Bigfoot to tell him he only saw a gorilla?

There’s plenty of witch hunters out there already.
No need to give them any more black cats to chase.

And again:

Did I say “there are no cheats”?

Nope

I said “if you call cheaters, make sure it’s for a valid reason”.

Mine with fearful team.

Hope dev will add “kick your hesitants teammates’s butt to make them moving forward” feature

Either memory fails me, or i in contact with dialect of english where “basically” can be interpreted “for the most part”, and can not as “explicitly”.

He need doctor. Bigfoot is lie.

Cheaters on the other hand - exist.

Seems not only i have that feeling

ok let’s clarify what many of you call cheats are just misunderstandings,
first enlisted works completely via server: players, vehicles, scenery, map, bots, weapons, damage, explosions etc are all managed via server and accidents happen
for example go through walls also i did it how? a le bree sometimes the wall near the first CP disappears due to the overload of the server and I ended up going through it I did it deliberately no! same thing is true for some shots that pass through walls or do not always do damage due to server overload that is very frequent finally I remind you of the 10 second spawn protection and the bot
second thing: many times it is easy to exchange skilled players like me who do 100 kills and more per game, like cheather because for many it is not normal to perform such a performance without using vehicles but this does not mean that we are cheather it means 2 things first: we have more experience and know the maps better
second: we have better equipped squads and we are better prepared for any eventuality
third thing: as said by @Serpiko82 if you suspect cheating you have to report it in game, because it could be either a cheather or a skilled player coming to the forum and complaining about cheather without evidence or just with guesswork is the stupidest thing to do

How to report a Player.

  1. press tab
  2. Press ALT
  3. press on the name of the player you want to report ( with left mouse button!)
  4. press report
  5. select the category
  6. write a comment, why you report him

besides, can’t do much about it in the forum…

I would recommend reading this post FAQ - "Was that cheating?" checklist, it is quite handy to check if the person in your game was a cheater. Most likely if you answer one of the questions in the post truthfully you will find a solution for your supposed cheater in the game. If it does not resolve your problem you should report the player in the game.

If it is the latter it sucks you are so extremely more unlucky than I am with having cheaters in your games.

I think the people who cheat are sad, how can you feel right about your score when you know you cheated to get the high numbers? Conscience should be bugging you all the time, but lucky you can hide here and not be seen for who you really are. If some guys get high score, probably just a better player and not have to brag about how good they are and point to high numbers on board. We all know if we look, good for you now lets play Enlisted and not worry about who does what.

We already here. ^)

It is.

Here i have a perfect exemple:

https://streamable.com/w2wh2o

Did that soldier running and reloading (looks like he does) really kill me ?

The kill-cam more often than not for me will show the wrong squad member. I can watch as a guy shoots me in the face only for the cam to show me the dead body on the ground next to him.

I did however come across someone today who I’m 90%+ sure he was cheating. This guy was filling the killfeed with headshots one after the other after the other. I know, I know. That’s technically possible but this was far too many for a guy who was running and gunning down everyone around corners.

I’ve got videos but they don’t tell the story the way his stats probably do. This guy had to have had more than 100 headshots in a few minutes. He had under 10 kill assists and nearly 200 kills.

Anyways. I hope never to see him again and cheaters can fuck themselves.

Well, I guess that’s an excellent example of what reports for suspicious behavior are for.

Why do we have to load anti-cheats before going into the game?

Yes

Added line about “hackers remotely controlling my character” (actually Enlisted crappy controller support at its finest).

:rofl::rofl::rofl: I look forward to the next update

Because it can be hacked - anything can be hacked - anti-cheat software is currently one of the ways companies try to reduce hacking.

And how well cheaters are doing in Enlisted. Does reporting even work at all?

We do not know exactly, because so far there is no direct feedback about further actions following reports.

But it is my opinion that we all would benefit if the reporting system wasn’t permanently clogged by salty players spamming “hacking” reports against everything and everyone just because they have no clue how some game mechanics work, and/or they are butthurt for getting killed in an unexpected way.

Since in all likelihood individual cases have to be checked before actually banning someone (or would you like your account getting banned by an automatic system just because some organized griefers team spammed a sufficient amount of reports against you?), therefore every “false positive” report is an extra useless step for game managers to go through, while searching for actual offenders.
