Expanding the Boltaction Buff

I’m glad to see that so many people want this. Just yesterday i commented on a topic about this and a few weeks before i did one myself with 150 comments or so.
I just hope that DF see all this and do something asap.

I agree! Bolt action buff for all campaigns! And introduce more unique bolt action gold orders too, this could go hand in hand. There are so many submachine guns…

BA already have a higher damage than any weapon with the same bullet, not to mention that for example maxxed mosin already one shots in 90% cases. Introducing fantasy damage of an anti tank rifle from Stalingrad will do nothing but enforce sniping and camper gameplay even more. Bolties are more than viable already for a starter weapon that you replace at lvl 5-7 in most of the campaigns. On the other hand I’d revert the semi-auto nerf, that would make an actual change for bulk of the playerbase without oneshot cringe that ruins TTK even more insanely.

yep, that was my topic and yes we need that to come to all campaigns. Idk why such a basic QOL changes takes so long.

So the idea is everyone full auto? that should be the meta?
I prefer the idea of different weapons for different situations. Also, bolt action is a lot of fun, for me, more than any submachine gun or assault rifle (in stalingrad of course), plus that way skillful low levels become really competitive.
But also, we are talking about weapons that are effective at very (very) long range irl. So it’s not unrealistic for 1 shot to kill you at close range.
but anyway, that’s my opinion.

you do know that every bolt-action rifle in service during ww2 uses a round bigger than most large calibre modern day assault rifles? and that most would outright kill or incapacitate you if hit in the chest while weapons like the mp40 and tommy gun would need upwards 6-8 shots to reliably kill or incapacitate, and that all lmgs also use that same sized round as the factions default service rifle

I just played stalingrad with sweaty Russian players bunny hoping with AVT spam, I can assure you bolt action buff will not ruin the game.

recently i realized that i lack long range capabilities (i have full assaulteer line ups), if bolt actions get this buff i would even consider swapping an assalteer squad for a sniper one.

pre firing every angle and wasting bullet like nothing, i swear it make me rember ash mains (rainbow six siege) when the game just launched.

Then buff semi-auto rifles and lmgs too, 15.9-17.2 is more than enough damage for BA, more than any Lmg or SA rifle, anything more is fantasy.

Yeah. You play game with progression, BA rifles became outdated and were mostly replaced by SA and auto guns, thats how things should be. And once again, BA are more than viable and adequate already.

I agree, it will just get one step closer to full ruin. What can totally kill the game is other changes to MG, auto guns such as AVT, I mean just compare it in Berlin and Stalingrad, totally dumpstered in Stalingrad. Ppsh also dumpstered for midrange, any mg is killed as a weapon and class. I’m basically against all changes introduced in Stalingrad and neutral towards BA buff.

Nothing more cancerous than explosives or snipers, BA buff just enforces that cowardly camper mentality even more.

trust me fast picking from corners at the spawn shooting with a 1 shot down weapon is more cancerous than a sniper or a retard that trow death packs

Only if all other gunplay changes introduced in stalingrad are removed - the campaign has the worst and least fun gunplay of any campaign in general.

Also, the lethality buffs should only exist for fully upgraded rifles, not stock weapons. Also, in return i would increase long range dispersion of all bolt actions when using regular sights and force players to hold the breath if they want to get a guaranteed hit at longer ranges.

Otherwise maps like normandy and tunisia will be absolute slaughter.

Bolt actions are so fun and great in Stalingrad that my favourite weapon in here is…

… The Starter Soviet Mosin carbine, with toothpick bayonet.

I don’t even joke, I love the thing in Stalingrad as it’s just perfectly balanced: fast cycling speed for a bolty, just perfect damage, thanks to Stalingrad bolty buffs, satisfying firing sound, useful bayonet.

In the other campaigns, I rarely use this rifle, as it’s damage output is too low…

You can just get a sniper in your assault squad or give one or two Bolts. thats how i run mine in Stalingrad. I Take the sniper to cover my assaulters and switch into them when they are near the point or just through smoke nades, every assaulter of mine has one to pop a quick screen against snipers.

but at the cost of a machine gunner,

also not an option bc fg42 can go full auto, so its like having mini assualteers

my experience in berlin tell that if you’re not leading your bots, a guy with a ppsh/avt will shred them to death in 0.5 seconds

You ust want to shit on noobs then. A full auto squad with fully upgraded semis will be superior in mid an close range anyway. Wasting " shots on one enemy with bolts and snipers is just absurd.
Strong bolts make smoke more of an asset because you actually need it to move over open fields while now a squad can just tank long range fire.
MGs should get a damage buff as well higher dispersion in my opinion.

Oh Berlin i dont play to messy for me, i send my assaulter in one at a time to counter snipe to reveal their Pos, maybe thats why it works better for me.
