I think that the total star level of equipment (or quality of vehicle) matchmaker would be much more fair towards players who just don´t want to be forced to play the meta or have to face panthers with their M5s…
Can we have skin or camouflage for soldiers or weapon?
Space to maneuver and flank panther would be enough. Sadly the battle zone is tiny ass and basically forces you to have head on engagements.

Could be, but it would be a mess… and I’m not sure it would work: ppl have 10 slots, some others 4. You’d have to add all 10 squads in? Also, it would be easy to cheat: create a doom squad fg42, mg42 etc, then put other squads with only infantrymen with sarter rifles to rate your total down…

That is true… additional slots are completely ruining that.
So what option do we have left? Skill based matchmaking where eventually half of the team refuses to play in order to “downgrade” themselves in matchmaking in order to have fun again for couple of matches?
Even if we could get just that, there are maps where it simply isn´t possible aka D-day.
I would segregate try harder to play with each other in special servers so that they can never bother again

This is not a bad idea…
try harders were overjoyed with the last try hard event tailored just for them, with try hard leaderboard and what not.
They should add a permanent mode with permanent leaderboard, one I would completely ignore but where try hards would flock to try and boost their ego to other kids.
perhaps the regular squad game would be funnier then. Hey now that I think of it, it was in Heroes and General, the war mode and the regular random mode. War mode was where tryhards were at, regular mode was when you wanted to chill and goof around. For all it’s flaws, H&G did that right.

everyone every match will play with AI teams, because you cant find enough players to do this.
even you found, This approach also hurts the diversity of the game, I doubt it is contrary to what the the dev thinks
