On archives and when I wanted to see about this bundle myself when it first released, this was basically the page I saw. Sure, it shows both tanks at the full value of 45, which the discount of a BUNDLE affected them by, but there was NO option to purchase one or the other for full 45 USD value. It was either do not buy or buy both since it was a bundle.
I simply want clarification so future bundles never have these issues again.
Inside the bundle yes we can clearly see the price of the individual squad but purchasing them individually in the bundle was not possible as it only display the price. Now please don’t tell me your gonna say it’s a bug that u can’t purchase squad individually as a answer
If what youre saying is true (which seems fairly unlikely given there are a lot of very veteran players who are saying it’s not), the takeaway should be that the storefront is unintuitive and should be revamped to better communicate
I’m not confused about anything, I’m simply saying that it’s obvious theres confusion about the storefront and your takeaway, as a developer, should be “maybe we should change this and make it easier to understand”.
So it is also wise in your opinion to remove gold order items from past battle passes to not “clog the store” but every companies focus is for profits in one way or another. Why would you kill off one of the biggest forms of microtransactions this game offers? 750 gold for a gun, more for a tank, removing this would make people not spend as much on Enlisted Gold anymore. That is my two cents.
When the Vanguard Bundle came out you couldn’t buy the included squads separately, but that’s been indeed changed months ago:
Google’s most recent (May 13) cache of the Vanguard Bundle shows that the tank squads were up for sale separately before the Summer Sale (you can see the link buttons if you hover on the squads).
I apologize sincerely. It seems that thewaybackmachine’s cache and my memory of always wanting to buy the firefly separately are indeed incorrect. I am wrong in that these squads were NOT sold separately since at last middle of May.
It does appear that there was an option, but alas I and majority of the community did not see such an option.
Honestly, maybe the point to take away with this is for now on release all bundles separate to start and if a person bundles the same set together, it applies the 30% bundle sale for lets say a 120 day sale period.
This would need to be stated clearly in that if you purchase only one of the set, I believe the discount is 15% off since if 45/45=90 but =60 from bundle, then 45/60 = 15% to total it off, then people looking at the other option might simply add it in to round a 45 into a 60 USD purchase.
As I said many times, I love this game with passion to want it to see it grow better and make a good profit to entice darkflow to keep investing more time and money and developing new content for the game.
TLDR: I was mislead from memory but after fact checking new information, it was indeed true, at least from May 2022. I will admit to a mistake and if any future confusing thing I find, I will relay it to proper channels. I already found four exploits since February, and have not said anything about them other than official people privately. Since I was wrong about this, I will continue to do so.
If I read this article from the EU correctly then price discrimination is forbidden for companies INSIDE the EU (Gaijin main office is nowadays in Hungary, Darkflow in Latvia - both EU members) that ask their customers for different prices just due to their different locations. Such as make someone in the EU pay more for the same service than someone from Japan.
While it also appears that electronically supplied services are an exception to that (for whatever reasons - it doesn’t make sense to prohibit price discrimination EXCEPT for digital services) I guess Darkflow/Gaijin is off the hook here in a judicial way.
But of course such obvious discrimnation (the costs of providing digital goods to Japanese should be the same for you as of providing digital goods to Europeans or Americans while Japanese have a quite similar spending capacity as europeans or americans so the reason why regional pricing became a thing doesn’t apply here) will be seen as unethical by your customers which will create animosity towards Darkflow/Gaijin as they feel unfairly treated and/or that regard them as cash cows ready to be milked.
Every company is free to chose if they go down that road or not and judging from experience I doubt that Gaijin cares about creating animosity by mistreating their community. It’s disappointing though as this will is one of the moments that leads to an increase of hostility in the forums and make it ultimatively harder for Darkflow to communicate with their customerbase and community in order to improve the game. To me that’s bad management worthy of to be internally discussed and worked upon.
As feedback from a loyal customer: Gaijin is in dire need of improving it’s PR and customer satisfaction in order to decrease animosity towards the company, increase corporate image and as thus also increase sales numbers.
I don’t even know why you bring up the Japanese pricing in the first place, it’s more or less 1:1 to USD one. Only Ruble prices were always lower since Russian users obviously don’t have the same spending capacity as you put it. Although with current Ruble exchange rate, the prices became the same in USD equivalent themselves without our interference.
Isn’t the disparity between the japanese sale and the US/EU sale mechanics the reason why we’re having this “price discrimination” discussion here?
If we really want to go into prices: 2525 JPY for a tank is the equivalent 17,72€ for a tank that you charge 22,49€ on the european market. That’s hardly 1:1.
For many years, 100 JPY equaled roughly to 1 USD so that is $25 for a tank, exactly the same how it goes at 50% off in current sale (if you buy two at once). The Yen dropped hard recently so there maybe some recalculations for DMM users, but that is to be decided.
Apart from feeding the snail, the MG13 with drum is dope (Lewis okay, nothing special for me) and five engies with mgs are cool (and OP). Firefly if you dont wanna wait for the 76mm Sherman or M10 (also BESA is a pretty good tank mg). And Stalingrad.
And again like gasto said, feed the snail.
