Enlisted Artillery and Mortars models are unrealistic and unhistorical

I personally am more concerned about mortars sitting in the spawn zone. I belive we had that discussion yesterday or so - I’m all in about forcing them out of there (it doesn’t even have to mean changing the mechanics, just making them more vunerable to counterattacks).
And it might be strange, but I don’t think that I ever was really stopped by the artillery spam. I play Germany in Moscow and although me and my friends use artillery barrages as area denial weapon when storming the points - enemy artillery was never a big concern for us, even with the “mighty 30s perk”. Maybe the Russian teams don’t use that so often. Or maybe it’s just matter of adaptation to the new rules on the battlefield.

A system similar to Rising Storm’s target marking would be the best solution to ensure line-of-sight to target.

Having an actual player spotting for actual player artillery would be better than what we have now, IMO. Also, having grid coordinates on the map would be AMAZING! Imagine being able to call in artillery (or CAS) on specific grid coordinates, rather than map markers. Would this require teamwork? Yes. Do we want more teamwork? Yes.

But do people want to use their brain while playing? Nope. Most players don’t think and just cap rush.

Tbh we need more maps like D-Day where people must actually think to beat the enemy

I’d be okay with more maps like D-Day!

Radio-operator sends coordinates to the artillery operators - which are about 10 km distant.

The mortar operator shoots on itself, because the mortar is short-range weapon (in comparison to the artillery).

I do not see anything unrealistic or unhistorical here.

In other games you do not have mortars at all or you have the artillery which you cannot shoot because it is occupied by the enemy snipers.
