It really doesnt take much to bring them down. Even with 7mm.
If you get in shooting position and know not to shoot directly at the lead indicator, its over in seconds
Also alot of planes have wing mounted guns to consider when aiming (no convergence…depending on your orientation, offset your aim to match)
most of the time, even just being hit screws your performance so badly it slowly starts to fall out of the sky, or is a real pain to maneuver, Often making it best to bail and get in something else.
Having some home-schooled understanding of how networking code works, to me it seems like it’s just client and server fighting → client updates it locally, probably more often, then the server update comes and says “oh btw the aircraft actually turned, pitched down and accelerated” so now the reticle jumps to updated position, then gets simulated by the client and becomes increasingly out of sync with server authority, then another update comes and it jumps again
With lower ping and smoother maneuvering it’s less of an issue, but client simply cannot account for other player inputs before the server update comes
I guess there are ways to “cheat” it a bit, but it all comes with tradeoffs

Im not saying WT damage models 100% accurate
Its a game after all but i still have less problems shooting down planes in WT
For example in WT the wing spar are modelled unlike in Enlisted therefore in WT a single 30mm can rip your wing off if you hit the spar
And i forgot to mention that i managed hut a Ju188 with a 76mm HE 2 times an gues what nothing happened
And even saw the shell explosion but i guess its “skill issue on my part”
if you never tried WT just give it a shot play it for a fee days in air RB
And you will se how Enlisted plane models are bad/broken

I find that hard to believe as I’ve shot planes down with tank main gun a many times in Enlisted, 2 of which I have video clip of in this forum. If you have a clip of you shooting a plane multiple times with a tank main gun with no significant effect post it in the forum.
That was 3 years ago when Dark Flow was a 2 men operation having their main office in the backroom inside a redlight district. Any recent one? I never experience this personally.
Just that the plane didn’t detonate doesn’t mean you didn’t kill it.
All planes are destroyed as soon as they get an oil/water leak. Some even just from damage near the engine. And when your rudder gets shot off, you won’t be able to aim at anything ever again and you’ll probably jump out.
But the plane kill may happen so delayed that the player responsible for it never realizes what happened - let alone those around him who saw the shots but do not get the notification. This all leads to the perception of planes being way more durable than they actually are.
Look you can get all emotional, expressive and get tilted as much you want, if this make you rage then you should take a long break from the internet. I just want to see recent proof not from one 3 years ago. I didn’t know asking for recent proof is akin to a insult in this forum or maybe it’s just an insult to you.

It’s not quite like that. Sometimes a hit from a pistol is enough, and sometimes it can withstand a hit from the 122mm gun of the IS-2 tank.
Sometimes you hit it right and shoot it down in one burst, and other times you chase it and hit it with everything you have, and it keeps flying.
As if Oddbawz doesn’t get literal ghost shells phasing through enemy vehicles in his WT videos pretty regularly. Shit like that happens lol.
But it’s simply not true that airplanes in Enlisted are durable. Anything with cannons/big MGs will just shred enemy air. Small MGs are weak, as they should be, but even those will make short work of your enemies when you know what you’re doing.
The big jebait is hitmarkers - just because you’re getting hitmarkers, doesn’t mean you are getting good hits. Shoot too far forward and walk back, then you will be hitting vitals
First of all you cant use argument historically accurate when this game is FAR fucking from it
Second its not a war thunder arcade model.
Its similiar so im not surprised people think it is arcade flying model but it really isnt.
Not to mention that the hits are quite random. 20mm from plane either delete your plane or for some fucking reason will cause only a fuel leak ( fuel leak that still shows 0 for over a year now)
but 2cm flak will delete you regardless on a first good shot.
Since i came back after a year long break since this game was absolutely broken i tried to use the lovely AA that people back then were crying about how weak it was.
not even 15 minutes into the match and im on top of the leaderboard.
it would be fine if we would have realistic flying model with the crosshair thingy we have
