Drop equipped weapon on death, not always just the primary slot

I noticed that the primary weapon slot weapon is the one dropped upon Death. So if you grab the one machine gun or sniper rifle when the original holder died in your squad and then also die, the third squad member can’t pick it up anymore since it would’ve gone to the secondary weapon slot.
I know you can drop primary and then pick up the weapon which means it’ll become primary but in the heat of battle and the high pace of the game this is just not practical and shouldn’t be needed since you shouldn’t have to do a weird work around when weapons aren’t supposed to vanish into thin air.

Too many objects in the battlefield will require more resources on the system and if you can actually drop two weapons people would start stealing Panzerfaust or flamethrowers

I did’t say drop 2 weapons, I said drop equipped weapon. Makes much more sense.
Maybe flamethrowers shouldn’t be dropped as they’d be hard to pick up with the tank and all irl.

Overall if it were to be implemented I think they followed the same coding so Drop both weapons if what you want went through

I’d be happy with that. Would also like to be able to rob ammo somehow. Kinda weird you can grab the weapon but not the ammo but that is likely by design.

That would make AT soldiers and flame troopers redundant if you could do that

Not really, they have to be there to drop it in the first place. I think irl most troops would’ve had some AT weapon training (depending on the nation). Enlisted’s fringe realism with troops entering AT cannons or MG nests without being a specified class could have them pick up bazooka’s too if you’d ask me.
Fair enough to be against it. Just placed it as a suggestion to drop the equipped weapon instead of primary. If it ever reaches the dev’s it’ll be up to them.

I know I’m just saying it will upset the balance and I do not think dark flow would actually approve of it.

and here’s a little secret you can have hundreds of flame troopers if this were to be implemented

We’ll see. I personally think just because you can doesn’t mean you will.
Even if someone where to cleverly orchestrate it to have hundreds of flame troopers then the time it’ll take to prep that is time lost capping points etc. After the merge all nations except Japan can already have a full flame trooper line up and seeing that this is not stopping them it seems like an unlikely issue.
But they might very well think the same as you. Perhaps only make it so for non-flamethrowers. We’ll see. I hope they add it is all. Personally don’t care about flamethrowers so happy to have them out.

If you grab a gun of a fallen soldier, you get more ammo than just the ammo in the gun.
I guess you also grab some magazines.

You get what’s in the mag + max 1 extra one. Probably intentional.

Searching the bodies. Like in Tarkov, you have to search the body.

That’s the only way I see it.

Yeah, that’d be nice. Drop equipped weapon with only the mag that is in. Further ammo is retrieved by interacting with the body.

I prefer to be able to grab everything that the unfortunate fellow had in his/her inventory.

Yeah that’d be nice too.

Each of my squads has one AP mine, one AT mine and the rest TNT. Sometimes I need to mine an intersection and the only guy with an AT mine just gets sniped. Would be nice to be able to grab the mine after taking out the sniper. Or some TNT if needed. Never enough TNT.
