I find the M1 carbine to be a terrible alternative to the M1 Garand in all aspects, especially the sights and recoil. The M2 Carbine is all but uncontrollable in auto. For the low damage, poor sights, and excessive recoil, I don’t see any reason to use these guns over a garand or Lee Enfield.
Not a surprise after you see many use FG42II in semiauto in Berlin
I can 3-4 round burst enemies with a BAR or FG42 at 100m or so without much issue. I’d be lucky to get more than a single hit on an enemy with the M2 at 50m
Talking about shooting from standing, not crouched or prone.
M2 Really suffers with that Poor sight, but the recoil is manageable and the Damage is pretty OK.
I usually use M2A1 and M2, but M1 Carbine is a pure piece of shit.
I use M1 carbine on paratrooper squad and for flametroopers/AT gunners
If you max upgrade the M1 Carbine it becomes really good.
I literally can snipe with the M1 Carbine, I don’t know why people bitch about the sights
they Mostly argue about M2, not M1.
They have identical sights
i do!
using the m2 carbine you cant really see much most of the time, but the recoil is actually very controllable (atleast for me). its pretty much just a slightly below average smg, which is really good when you can use it on troopers.
i use the m1 carbine aswell. but thats mostly because i am tired of the m1 garand. its boring, its in every other ww2 shooter and it gets tiring to use it all the time. (+ hottest take of the century, m1 carbine is not nearly as bad as people say, its pretty solid if you know how to use it)
No they Don’t. And also, M2 Carbine’s Visual Recoil is much Stronger, Which makes it hard to aim.
M1 carbine is criminally underrated.
It’s recoil is really not too bad and you can 3 tap ppl in quick succession at medium distance. I kinda like it, I give it to my assaulting soldiers that can’t equip smgs.
M1 carbine is ok if fully upgraded. could use less recoil, or less time between one bullets, and the other.
Mostly good in hipfire in close quarter, and in ads mid to long distance, precision is one of it’s key And it has a lot of amunitions even without small pouch
I give this weapon usually to my engineers, or used to give it to guys of gold orders since I did not had backpack slots.
M2 it’s… like an m1 but it’s automatic and has a lot, and I mean, a lot recoil that it’s almost unusable for most people. It takes practice. But the way I use it, mostly in cqc hipfiring ( risky. Cuz it kinda have a limited mag )
If you want to use it properly, for mid to long distances, equip it on guys with the perks for recoil reduction.
That will mostly help. But it’s up to you.
So yeah. Those are my two cents.
I’ve heard bots don’t have recoil but dispersion only
Bots have all sorts of problems. I don’t think they have any dispersion or recoil, but rather an RNG on whether they just hit you or not, and another RNG on whether it’s a headshot or not. Gonna guess these RNG calculations are made prior to their shot, not after, which would account for some really bullshit snapshots through trees and smoke.
I’m an Unironic M2 Carbine spammer, I got 2 infantry squads with M2 Carbines. No regrets
The M2 Carbine has excellent hipfire if you have the dispersion reduction perk. The sights are atrocious, I personally dont bother with ADSing.
There is only 3 classes that I have that doesn’t use the carbines and they are assaulters, gunners and a sniper until they give sniper carbine
M2 shines once maxed out and in the hands of a soldier with vertical recoil reduction perk. Then, it becomes rather accurate even at medium range and, as long as you aim the first shot at center of mass, you can let off a short burst without even needing to keep seeing the target, and the guy usually goes down.
Tbh the FG-42 is also really good as a semi auto, maybe some peeps just don’t like spaming even more full auto, so the FG is a really good gun if you want to use it competitive while still not spamming FA
