Tbh, I guess there’s no infatry weapon that I really don’t want to face. So no, I’m not afraid of MGs. But I also am not afraid of assaulter weapons or flamethrowers.
The only thing I really respect (fear) when I play infatry is HVARs. You really need to pay attention to US planes
Not really, looking at more realistic shooters HMGs/SAWs are used in bipod posistion to lay down accurate long range fire and to suppress a posistion. There really isn’t the need for the former in this game because of engagement distances being so short 90% of the time, and the latter would be a game mechanic that people would cry about having to deal with.
Duly noted. It seems that the best way to do this is with suppression. This is only acceptable if the MGs have actual serious recoil, not their current state. Fresh bread for developers is coming soon.
It depends.
Truly significant suppression would be annoying as hell and the only counter would be just send HE or rocket right on machinegunner.
Any infantry guy wouldn’t have proper counter play. Maybe outside snipers.
And weaker form of suppression would basically meant nothing.
I really doubt we need more campers which are outside objective. That’s why I would prefer current state of MGs. It’s better to not fear any weapon rather than creating annoying camping thing which cannot be properly counterplayed by regular infantryman.
The thing is, you can do a shtt against it. Your only option is to take cover and at best mark the place where the MG guy is.
And I don’t think that’s good for game like enlisted. And I think MGs would needed to be heavily restricted and limited if such feature would be implemented.
I do fear RD-44 because it can wipe my squad with its 100 rounds before I could fire back.
These ambush situations are fairly common on the urban maps too.
Yeah they did run out of MGs to add for Soviets, red army never had a good variety of MGs in the first place and since DF refuses to add lend-leased guns its even harder to implement more without touching unrealistic prototypes.
MG’s can be scary. But people either try to use them like it’s Conders or think they can just build a 131 in the middle of the open and not die for it. They fully deserve what they get
At the time, they could’ve added the Maxim Tokarev, but they instead added RPD with a foregrip. There is no excuse for giving a foregrip to an MG that is already chambered in an intermediate cartridge.
Give MGs bolt action grade precision when bipod mounted, but lower the speed at which you can turn the gun when you mount up. This makes MGs while mounted really good at holding down a specific line of attack. And the counterplay is what it’s been for any well armored tank: just flank it bro
I don’t fear MGs. Most ppl use them as heavy assault rifles and they are a similar threat. I don’t think I ever saw a proper MG position, not for certain.
What I fear are HMGs. But they are easiy flanked.
