I just found out that you can see how many people are part of the “Enlisted Tester” and “Enlisted CBT” roles. Both have 1311 members, as of this writing. Testers are from Alpha, CBT are of course closed beta. I asume that every user is part of both of these roles, which would mean the total playerbase we have right now is 1311 members, including both English and Russian (I checked, they’re part of the same forum group).
Asuming that maybe 10% of players are online at any given time, this results in ~130 members, but the actual number is probably lower in practice, maybe 50 people at any given time.
This should explain waiting times etc, as well as make it clear why larger matches are currently impossible.
Plus those not signed up for the forum, which may or may not be a small number, but almost certainly exist, however, those are less likely to be active in the game as well.
Well, only for those who joined this forum. Mostly CAT players.
Most Enlisted players in my local Enlisted community dont join this forum. They come in CBT. You cant find their id here.
Like “athudkill” “Shekpol”, and so on. They arent here.
a single fight has up to 20 players, at the same time same game mod runs multiple fights + 3 regions + lone wolf (x3 regions as well). Its a huge amount of players that mayt fight from 5 to 40 minutes, while battles are starting each 1-2 minutes
during twitch drops there were more than 10.000 viewers online, pretty sure that most of them (>50%) were real players waiting for drops. As soon drops went off - twitch views dropped to couple thousand.
result: amount of actuall testers is around 5000-10.000, while the online must be around 1000 users daily spreaded across time zones, regions and mods
forum users doesnt represent players data base, im sure, forum users are those who joined the forum at least once (made a singe ‘view’), from what i know forum users are usually 10% or lower of actuall population
Twitch Drop event is a good gauge. On day 1, I saw 5,500 people watching Canadian guys stream. Thats one twitch channel. So I think player base is ok, I don’t know why you insist it’s empty - population is probably few thousand at any given time.
those numbers you saw necessarily does not mean they are there to get drops for enlisted some may be for war thunder plus most did not even play the game coz it is in cbt not obt…so those 5k numbers are just numbers not players ingame
The game is still in an extremely early stage and not actively advertised. There is a reason why they want people to buy a pack to play it. Considering that it makes sense that there is only so few players. So far it simply does not matter. But the game is (my guess) in a state that the developers say they will take money for it. In 2017 they did shut down the backer packs after they were forced to make major changes to their plans and said they couldn’t deliver on it on time. After all, Enlisted was supposed to go into closed beta (?) in 2017.
Also Enlisted was plagued with problems which could be seen in Cuisine Royale which was used as a testbed. For example the biggest problems were:
Useless AI squads that would mainly get themselves murdered
Guns behaved all like the MG42 does now
The change to f2p changed the entire approach to the game
I think there was even more problems back then but neither am I allowed to name the ones that were not seen in a public version that was not under NDA nor do I have them in mind. It was a really long time ago.
My guess is that once the game develops to a more advanced state the devs will advertise it and especially allow f2p access. For now it is still a closed beta. It does not need 10000 players.
You need 10k+ players to get a reasonable test pool.
Atm the playerbase is too small to even fill matches, on top of that, a lot of players have similar playstyles as well which skews test data.
