Easy, give base spawn points a 3 second respawn immunity. You shouldn’t be able to camp them if they’re able to have 3 full seconds of locating you and finding you.
That’s not gonna work. You can easily lay prone in a bush for 3 seconds without anyone spotting you, and the entire squad that just spawning in standing up will be fully visible to you to gun down after a quick countdown.
We just need bigger maps so mortars can’t hit objectives while in the grey zone, there are already transport vehicles in the game if we’re concerned about respawn time and bigger maps would allow for more rally points.
Ah, they could consider it. Maybe.
I am never sure is there some moderator Sauron Eye lurking on these forums and really gathering ideas for the dev team.
Or are we all typing and discusting to waste.
Remove auto weapons from the recon squad? You can kill few, not all.
And again, the idea with Spawn lines would come in really handy in this situation.
You can mow down squads with a rifle too. I’ve done it plenty of times, the trick is to hit the real player first, and then it’s more or less free pickings with the current AI. You can often even get away with reloading while standing fully exposed.
Then give even bigger immunity to spawn if enemies are in certain proximity to spawn point.
Or give notification to the player “Enemy recon infiltrated our rear lines”, something like that.
Simple IF-ology.
First squad might get taken down, but they’ll know instantly where you are for any consecutive squads, and you’ll be cleaned out quickly. You’ve also put a lot of work and patience to get behind enemy lines, so if you manage that you’re rewarded with a couple of kills, not a big thing.
Not liking this idea much … Honestly it’s just kind of cheesy and feels like a BF or COD gimmick.
The mortars in this game are light mortars ( 50 to 60mm ) and counter battery was not used against them as they were more concerned with the big guns that are off map somewhere.
As for arty you can’t counter battery a radio operator. He is just the spotter for the artillery. Again the artillery is firing from somewhere off map.
If there were not other solutions out there already I would say sure why not. But there are better solutions for dealing with arty and mortar spam already on the forum. Hopefully the devs will not pick something like this to implement…
Agree with you.
Just remove mortar markers from the map and add weather dependand deviation, so one would need to have some sort of line of sight to see where shells land and how much correction is needed.
For off map artillery, make direct line of sight a requirement, from the moment of calling artillery and to the last spotting round.
