They were though, as I noted above in one example from hot motors cold feet they were almost overrun by hundreds of women conducting a human wave atack.
There were women fighter piolets, bomber piolets and special attack piolets, and women serving in armor and infantry units.

The Front was a part of Soviet territoral air defense forces which at that time controlled most of Ukraine, North Caucasus and Lower Volga region.
Conscription of women into the Red Army, Navy and NKVD troops was carried out according to the State Defense Committee decisions via district and city military commissariats by agreement with central and local party and komsomol organizations. Women fit for service in the age from 19 to 45 were conscripted and sent to army units, and in the age above 45 – to stationary rear units. Released from conscription to the Army, Navy and NKVD troops were women having families and pregnant and also working on defense industrial enterprises, in the NKVD and NKGB organs, on railroad and water transport, students of colleges and technical schools.
In 1943 women were sent to PVO (Air Defense) units not only for filling positions of auxiliary personnel, but also combat positions (scouts, gun and machinegun crews, searchlight stations, post of barrage balloons etc)
During the Great Patriotic War period in all 490 235 women were conscripted to military service, of them: in 1941 – 5 594 women, in 1942 – 235 025, in 1943 – 194 695, in 1944 – 51 036, in 1945 – 3 615 women.
Of the number of conscripted were sent: to PVO units – 177 065, signal units – 41 886, Air Force units – 40 209, women formations and school – 14 460, automobile units – 18 785, cook courses – 28 500, military sanitary units and establishments – 41 224, Navy units – 20 889, railroad units of the NKPS (People’s Commissariat for Transport Communications) – 7 000, to MPVO (local anti-aircraft defense units of the NKVD – 70 458, miscellaneous (front, district and army) units and establishments of the Red Army – 29 259.

This is still not much considering 5%. The text itself also states many non-combatant roles/ roles which are not covered in Enlisted where the commies shouldnt brag around so much considering that basically all major nations did that.
I think adding female soldiers for gold orders is a good idea, have em be snipers, pilots and medics since that’s what they’d usually be historically. For the allies they could get female French partisans in normandy and the Germans could get females in Berlin
Woman will first ask to be in our game and after they will ask for the right to vote… you will see.

There they were many women that served in the Russian military during WW2 but it was almost certain that you would not see them on the front line because there jobs were restricted to support roles like artillery, nurses, and snipers. So even if you could only get female squad members through gold order you would see them to much to be realistic (I know that you are going to say that this does not matter because there are various other unrealistic things in the game but this is not an excuse to make the game more Unrealistic). Disclaimer I am not being sexist I am just stating the facts
To be honest, I did see some sources that supported the participation of female soldiers in the frontline battles, but the number was very small, so I thought it was better to use gold orders to get these heroic soldiers.

I have seen the Lyudmila Pavlichenko biopic and was very impressed.
The premium Squad female medics and pilots in the Soviet Army in this game did a very good job though. I can’t wait for the female snipers to join the game.
It would be good to have them “Enlisted” in GoldOrder on a limited basis as you say.
