It puts you at a disadvantage though, SVT40 needs 2 5 round clips to load the gun while M1 Grand only needs 1 8 round clip? The same goes for Gewehr 41 and 43 right? The M1 Grand really is the best then.
I sorta wish we could get the clip reloads though because for some reason they interest me.

Always has been. That is why they gave it such terrible gun sights.
I’ll list the Soviet weapons that would use stripper clips to load detachable magazines:
-
Fedorov Avtomat M1916 and Federov MG: Loaded with 5, 5 round Arisaka stripper clips (Bolt must be manually locked open by pulling it back and compressing a latch next to the bolt.
-
SKS-31: Loaded with 1, 5 round Mosin stripper clip.
-
AVS-36: Loaded with 3, 5 round Mosin stripper clips, bolt automatically locks open on last round unlike Fedorov (This is why the scope is offset to the side on the AVS)
-
SVT-38, SVT-40, SKT-40, and AKT-40: Loaded with 2, 5 round Mosin stripper clips (this is why the scope is short on these rifles)
AVT-40: Loaded with 3, 5 round Mosin stripper clips.
SVT, SKT, AVT, or AKT with Bubnov Drum: Loaded with 4, 5 round Mosin stripper clips.
There is probably more that I haven’t mentioned but ill end it here.
