Complete over-haul of the campaing system. (big one)

This is my latest suggestion/ fantasy/ perspective that I have been working on and thinking.

  • What do you guys think about this option, now that the game is in beta still this could be done and “getting stuck” on the development later on/ already could be averted by the game itself?

ESTABLISHMENT OF “FRONTS” INSTEAD OF CAMPAIGNS.

It would be far better if there were “Fronts” where you could choose to fight and establish set ups for different time periods for fighting in certain maps etc. This would prevent players from taking weapons from the 1944-1945 back to 1941 etc.

It would also increase the DEPTH of the game and encourage players to spend more time, effort and money in the game. Financially and development wise this would increase the amount of permanent players and market share very fast, while allowing development.

Eastern Front = Would include everything from early Barbarossa to Stalingrad and Kursk (In Kursk teams could take up to 8 vehicles each team!) etc. This could also have Winter War/ Continues War in it.

Western Front = All maps from German invasion to France, D-Day, Operation Market Garden, Last fights against German outposts 1945 etc. This could also have even the German invasion to Poland.

African Front = Tunisia etc.

Asia Pacific Front = Japan vs. Allies, the whole show could be expanded all the way from the 1937 to 1945.

This, however would require an complete overhaul of the campaign systems but it would be worth it. After that the game itself could be EXPANDED very easily and it could slowly but surely start to compose the whole WWII era.

The possibilities are endless as were the theaters of war, this would allow endless expansion and endless amount of maps, details, weapons, soldiers, units and even more nations in the game itself.

How cool would it be to fire invading Japanese soldiers as a Chinese soldier with a German rifle (They had German gear) in Shanghai from a particular warehouse there?

Next map/ next game you would have different troops, units and a set up that you have created for yourself already with your British units, soldiers and weapons. The mission is to defend Singapore?

This system would increase the depth of the game to whole new levels with endless amount of new players flooding in from all over the world and would make Enlisted as THE WWII FPS game of the WORLD permanently for the next 10-15 years.

There could be all the second world war battles from Budapest to Gdansk etc.

  • This, however would require to completely overhaul the whole campaign system.

It is a major step, however if this game wants to keep growing it is necessary. Otherwise I see that this game will run into a development trap quite badly in the near future.

Any ideas/ input/ more similar thoughts?

I would not mind if I had for example really goo dearly war french troops and not that great late war american ones (Because I have not developed them) etc? It would be far more interesting. Also, it would lower the bar for any new player to enter the game due to the fact that having all the nations, all the troops with the best gear and best troops would be almost impossible/ would take multiple years to have despite spending huge quantities of money?

Any thoughts?

Expanding the campaigns into fronts opens up more doors and could reduce player base split. I’d be for it

Sounds weird to some degree. Why putting partly completely different campaigns (e.g. Sino-Japanese War and Japanese campaigns in Southeast Asia) together if

  • you play them with different stuff, squads etc. anyway?
  • you can still decide to play whatever you want.

It is also weird to mix your squad layouts with other camapigns where your stuff is maybe not even used or were it makes less sense to have so many assaulters or rifles due to campaign design.

But maybe I didnt understand it correctly.

Yes, we need fronts. Like what’s going on with Normandy LOL, they’re trying to cram everything in. Just rename it to Western front and go on from there. Also, there’s the classic case of grinding the same shit over and over. I actually have a similar idea that I have been working on for a few months already. IMO we also should get tech trees.

The change of the “campaigns” into “fronts” would allow the game to add content without having to start the grind all over again, like I would even dig if they go beyond campaign lvl 50, if you have 3 or 4 big cities/ battlefields in one campaign there would be more than enough “little gems” that can be added, even if they are just sidegrades.

yea right that, we already have Jumbos and stuff that is “late war equipment” so might as well just add the Ardennes right?

So I suggest something, but just extended campaigns and make few periods(Moscow - eastern front - 1 period 1941 - 2 period 1942 - 3 period 1943.)
Maybe I make new topic with same idea.

Exactly, fronts will allow for devs to add more content without needing to spilt the player-base.

I agree with the concept, I disagree with what the current campaigns would be turned into though. Unless you plan on merging Berlin and Moscow into the same front, I think it would be:
Moscow - Eastern Front 1941-1943
Normandy - Western Frint 1944-1945
Berlin - Eastern Front 1944-1945
Tunisia - North Africa

The switch in the Eastern Front would be based on the Soviets pushing out of homeland and into enemy lands. This could also give way for a Poland Front as well predating Moscow. Alongside an early western front: Western Front 1940, having all German annexations west of them (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, etc)

I do i agree whit you the eastern front woud allow for more battles whitout spliting up the player base for example if they want to add battle of stalingrad they can’t just put it in the battle of moscow they must make eastern front wich woud open for more pontetial content and battles like Stalingrad, Kursk and many more, the same ting goes for d day they shoud rename it into western front so they can add battle of the bulge, market garden ect… (sorry for my bad english)

Kursk is a somewhat difficult to do balance, since you already had panthers on the german side, but no T34 85 yet.

yes i used kursk as an exsample i woud not mind if there was some historical inaccuracy like t 34 85 or is2 present but yes it woud not be accurate tho
