Community UI/Army Management thread

Hello all, one of the main complaints I hear about this otherwise amazing game is that the main menu UI sucks, and I kinda have to agree. So, I wanted to make this thread as a general UI ideas thread so we can all express not only what frustrates us with the UI but give the developers an idea of what we as a community would like to see done to fix the problems.

I will go first with this list.

1a. It is common for people to try to optimize the stats of all of their soldiers once they are well established in a campaign; the best way to do this is to repeatedly buy the type of soldier you’re looking for until you get a good enough stats roll to meet your needs. As it stands now this process takes forever because you can only buy soldiers one at a time and you have to leave the logistics menu, go to the soldiers menu, click on a squad, then click on managing soldiers, then click on the new soldier they received so you can see the stats. This is a 6 step process that you have to repeat several times until you get the right stats.

 Solution: after clicking purchase a screen appears that shows a picture of your soldier and the
 amount of stars they have, there is a lot of foreground space left where you should place a box that
 shows the soldier's stats. Also on the screen where you can choose to purchase the soldier or cancel
 you should display an input where you can set the number of soldiers that you want to purchase
 and then this should update the gold cost and the silver orders cost to purchase those soldiers

1b. When you are finished optimizing your soldiers you are left with tons of junk soldiers that don’t have very much use to you which you also can only get rid of one at a time

 Solution: in the managing soldiers menu add a checkbox next to all of the soldiers in reserve, allow
 players to check the box and and have checking the box add a "send X (the count of soldiers
 selected) soldiers to the rear button and bring up the normal "are you sure?" popup with a total of
 all of the bronze orders that they would receive at the bottom
  1. Once you’ve unlocked many different squads in a campaign the squads management menu can become a jumbled mess where it’s hard to find what you need; this is because the names of the squad aren’t particularly meaningful when trying to figure out the squad’s main class type.

    Solution: I think that the list should have multiple headings that show what type of squad it is and
    under that heading the squads should be organized by the highest soldier type to lowest soldier
    type in that class

    For example:

    Assaulters:
    * Assaulter III squad
    * Assaulter II squad
    * Assaulter I squad

    Engineers:
       * Engineer II squad
       * Engineer I squad

  2. The operations/challenge events button should not be shared with custom games. The button constantly switching back and forth and having to click on the tiny dot to get to the right menu is not awful but kind of annoying and it breaks up the flow of the menu. The top half of the right menu on the soldiers screen seems like it should stay dedicated to challenges and the bottom should stay dedicated to starting matches.

    Solution: I think the Custom games button should be removed entirely and that box should just be
    used to show new events and challenges ( the main menu already has a button that takes you to
    game modes including custom game modes so this just seems unnecessary)

amazing game… ya it’s pretty far from and is actually on the road to dying

The game is not perfect but I think that it implements a lot of cool gameplay and strategy that I can’t get in other games. I think that it has been released to beta a bit too early and it still needs a lot of polish but it is in beta and problems are constantly being fixed as well as new features being added all the time, I think it’s kind of a hidden gem

It for sure has potential but the devs are killing the game pretty quickly.
