Hey there, not going to go into detail for this one, but more just lay out a general idea and see how people respond to it.
Enlisted has an amazing and very in depth modding community who have done fantastic and far reaching work. My simple suggestion here, is like in a similar vein to the community skins that get added to the game in WT, is that additions and QoL tweaks from mods could be voted on to be added to the main game.
And even if modders weren’t given actual money, are bare minimum, for example if they add a premium squad based on a modder’s work, give them a cut of the profits in gold, unique name decorators, profile pictures, etc etc.
This would go a long way to alleviate what is clearly a highly understaffed team working on Enlisted and would allow for some closer communication between modders and devs, its my understanding there is a lot of features modders would like to see that could finally be born from such a cooperation.
there’s already a special profile picture they used to give out for mod spotlights but that hasnt happened in years, but other than that, darkflow will never give out free gold, you realize the 1st place winner of the screenshot contests gets $5.00 right? the developers loathe giving out rewards
More said additions and QoL tweaks as a catch all term, but Im sure there is some building systems or etc that can be dug up for it.
As for your latter point, all the more to encourage it and show them we want change, not to mention, isnt giving out 5 quid for a screenshot contest show they are willing to pay out more rather than giving them some fantasy currency only useable in game?
The devs dont care about modders. They only do the bare minimum. We havent gotten mods digest in ages, sandbox portal is buggy mess and most suggestions fall for deaf ears.
you can now charge with most weapons & Melees, even if it doesn’t have a bayonet.
" hold " and personal orders distance for bots before falling back to the player has been increased to 80 meters allowing for a wider distance before regrouping on the player. ideal to scout ahead without making bots leave their vehicles, place your own bots in different places to cover wider areas etc.
Some Ai will stand their ground if a position is taken
some of them wont be a punching bag unlike in the base game.
vehicles will no longer blow up in Hollywood style if decrewed
&
you can now decrew enemy vehicles and capture them by taking control and command said vehicles
all weapons and items will drop upon death. allowing nearby units to replenish or use fallen equipment. ( tired of losing important weapons such as AT when the anti tank guy dies ? say no more )
picking weapons up from corpses will now grant two additional magazines instead of one.
AI can now use anti tank guns / Emplacements on their own ( you’ll need to place some AI inside though )
AIs can use APCs and Bikes Gunner Seats
Note: unfortunately, this feature is a bit buggy. the main intent was to allow the AI to cover fire while the players can focus on other targets. however, if you are contolling the machine gun and there are other AI soldiers within the vehicle, the AI will still fire and take control over the player directly. so i suggest to make the AI dismount if you are planning on manning the bike or APC machinegun. otherwise it’s best to let them deal with it.
overheat rework across the board
Ais can now use Tank Bow / Hull Machineguns ( only Historical accurate gamemod )
attaching medkits or toolboxes outside of vehicles
replenishable engineer resourches at the base
better view angles for the halftracks
downed position and self healing have been removed to improve and incentivize team play & medic class ( only in Historical mode )
New ammo carrier / Assistant gunner " class ". ( Medium & Historical accurate modes )
the ammo carriers ( marked with assaulter icon and named " assistant gunners " ) will be able to pick up machineguns from dead machinegunners and be ready to use said machineguns without having to look for an ammo crate. additionally, to support the half of the squad, this class can drop a:
&
deployable ammo crates. ( Medium & Historical accurate modes )
allows assistant gunners & Engineers to deploy an ammo crate which works similarly to medkits but instead, it replenishes full ammo 5 times before running out of " supplies " to any other troopers. engineers will only be able to deploy these crates in the Historical mod, where the hammer is disabled. otherwise the process is default from vanilla
logistic trucks
where you can replenish ammo from
and believe me, there are way, way more.
maybe things should change
how about 10 to 15 €.
want more content? start incentivizing and rewarding base on player effort and gameplay longetivity
( Which most of my mods fails at doing that. because are more of a “one time thing” PVEs. but i digress. after all, i’m not the only one creating mods for this game. nor i should. talented people such as bazsi 37, yopsius, shcyrikami, venomulfrick, privateryan44, gamer_victorch etc etc )
as it goes for MY actual and concrete assets that i can provide for the game game, are cosmetics.
and there are alot of them.
just very few examples;
( which very few have been starting to appear so… you know. maybe it is working, maybe not )
and plenty more of assets. since mine have been improved:
as it goes for the main thread… perhaps i may be a bit bias.
as i believe modding can provide and reach a far greater amount of people than the clan people self proclaims.
as it provides content for literally everyone. involving their own equipment or not ( maybe the latter is why it’s a bite on our own ).
but i guess reused assets slop from war thunder are more important.
and, they pretty much don’t care or outright hate the enlisted modding community.
considering the lack of support, lack of QOL or even any " mods digest ".
literally the last one was 1 year ago. and any meaningfull improvements, 2 years ago.
modders like you do a lot of talented work, but it should be clear by now that the developers really dont want to work with modders or the community as a whole, we can protest and beg as much as we want but ultimately that will not change darkflow’s attitude
Yeah the point of this thread was more to drum up support for the modders, I mean the fact the devs have such a great source of work available to them super easily, and seem to refuse to work alongside them is a bit disheartening for sure.
Id like to see a system put into place to allow a more direct line of communication between modders and devs, combined with the incentives to encourage more modders.
There are no Darkflow anymore and Darkflow already gave us one event with free gold. And speaking of screenshot contest they should should be giving not only more gold (1000 at least for 3rd place) but also Preorder pack with two premiums for the first place of the contest. You could probably invent some other reward for a 2nd place 2500 gold or one premium (winners choice let’s exclude newest preorder packs to incentive buying them). But yeah since it’s Gaijin we can’t even have contest with any rewards anymore.
