Combined France-Poland-BENE tech tree

France tech tree has been proposed a few times before and Poland once or twice.

But so far I dont believe anyone has suggested combining the two. I also have sought to amalgamate a few suggestions from different people’s threads.

The following tech tree visuals are credited to @coldestwinter. It must be emphasised that these were merely preliminary ideas as a proof-of-concept. There are for example various other French weapons that could be added.

One of the main arguments against France or Poland separately has been not even tech on their own. This is fixed by:

  1. Making the faction BR I to BR III only.
  2. Combining France, Poland and the Netherlands as can be seen below results in an abundance of potential content.

The combination of the two above factors would ensure a very solid faction with all the BRs properly filled.
It should be recognised that at the moment there actually isnt much content or maps for BR IV or V across the factions anyway. Most USA-UK BR IV weapons for example really belong in BR III.

NOTE: In the pictures below there is some overlap between the different nations, and some weapons are reused from existing factions. The neat part is that when we combine all of these we will no longer need any of the copy paste weapons. Doubled up weapons will of course cancel out.

Belgium would add the following weapons as well as uniforms for squads.

  • Belgian Mauser Model 1935
  • Mauser model 1893
  • Mauser model 1899/36
  • Pieper Bayard mle 1934
  • MG08/15
  • Premium: Fusil-mitrailleur Mle 1930 Browning ? (BARA2)
    Note: I did not add Belgian pistols since I didnt consider that hugely important.

Maps:
For easy of reading I have separated the following into the different nations. However it is strongly emphasised that the FRPOBENE faction would queue as one and could be put in any of these maps. (you wont be queued separately as France and separately as Netherlands or whatever)

  • Dunkirk (replaces reverse D Day mission)

  • Paris (early and late war)

  • Stonne/Sedan

  • Maginot Line

  • Eban Emael fortress (potential for Fallsmirjager premium)

  • Antwerp/Battle of the Scheldt

  • Westerplatte (Germans using artillery in this battle would get it from the Schleswig-Holstein battleship)

  • Danzig Post Office

  • Warsaw (early and late war)

  • Borneo

  • Timor (Australian commando premiums for USA-UK tree)

  • Balikpapan (early and late war)

Existing campaigns where FRPOBENE would fight

  • Normandy
  • Ardennes
  • Tunisia
  • Pacific

Other suggested maps that would involve existing USA-UK plus FRPOBENE.

NOTE: The majority of the suggestions in the lists broken down by nation would feature the existing factions in some way.

For example the Soviets in Warsaw, Japanese in Dutch East Indies, USA-UK in French, Belgian and Dutch maps and Germans in all maps except those in the Pacific/Asia.

This list is far from complete, there are various other potential battles/areas that could be represented and I encourage additions to the list.

Likewise additions to the lists of potential weapons are strongly encouraged.

What about Vichy France?
Previously Ive suggested a French tree that combined Free France and Vichy France together. Upon reflection I have decided against that idea since Vichy French didnt fight in many places and their weapons are just regular French weapons or German ones.
Therefore Vichy France would only be included in existing French weapons in the German tree or maybe as a future premium/event German squad. Theoretically they could be just left out of the game altogether.

Premiums:
One of the criticisms of a French tree on its own is that only going to BR III means less premiums so less money for DF. I disagree.
Once again we see the combination of FRPOBENE content means plenty of potential premium weapons/vehicles and squads. (French or Polish resistance squads are another suggestion)

Queues/Playerbase

One of the other criticisms is queues and a split playerbase.

  1. For the majority of the above FRPOBENE would use the same queue as USA-UK. They could also join the Soviet queue for Warsaw. In this way the waiting times are the same and there would be more battles to go around anyway.

  2. A new faction WILL encourage new players. A whole NEW faction is different to a couple of event guns here and there, its an exciting development and France has long been requested. It would revitalise interest in the game and give players an option other than the existing factions.
    A faction that is BR I to BR III would also provide a shorter grind for beginners to get the hang of the game and accomplish something worthwhile.

Final note: One whole faction that covers France, Poland, Netherlands and Belgium is the only other full faction I suggest adding. I strongly support the addition of Commonwealth squads, weapons and uniforms but these would simply join either the current USA-UK tree or a separate UK tree.
