In the MP-18 said you can add a engineer who can build a machine gun, but when I first played with it, the was kinda disappointed to find out that it doesn’t build the MG08, I think they should replace the current MG with the MG08, because it would make the squad a little more unique and also the MG08 isn’t a bad MG. I would think it would be like the Russian MG, being low to the ground.

I mean, Id much rather see the MG08 in the game for multiple squads, but the Mp18 squad being one of those seems fair to me.
Id also like to see a more man portable one, even if it can only be fired from bipod/etc but as a benefit could be played at BR3/BR4?
I’d rather add some light conversions of 08 than the water cooled variant.
I know the ship has sailed but soldier doing backflips with 20kg lump of metal in hands doesn’t sit right with me.
Id completely agree, I think thats a good distinction actually, keep the water cooled variants for the emplacements and the lighter versions for the equip-able ones.
I mean it would also lay the groundwork for British squads to get the vickers MG as an emplacement too.
To my knowledge the 08/18 never survived in service after the First World War unlike the 08/15.
I don’t think it’s an issue. We already have quite a few “20 pieces made” type of guns.
At least for tech-tree equipment the devs have stuck to adding stuff which existed during the WW2 time period outside of very exceptional circumstances like the Su-9. I don’t see any reason why Germany would or should be granted that kind of exception when they have plenty of belt fed guns from the time period they could add instead.
