Currently, the FW190 D12 in Berlin is classified as an attacker.
However, in Normandy, the premium FW190 D9 (with similar performances and weapons) is classified as fighter.
I suggest, after the campaigns merge, changing the classification of the D12 to fighter too. So it will become the free end-line fighter for Germany (at least until Me262 appears), letting the Ju188 be the top attacker.

Yes, but keep in mind that US is already able to deploy P-47 and P-51 (or Tempest) at once. Plus, otherwise, people owning the premium D9 will be able to use it along a Ju188 anyway, having a (partial) advantage over free users.
Of course, this is open to debate.

…where they get the wwii equivalent of an a10 warthog which can wipe ai bombers in seconds, a ju188 with six mini nukes to prefix its destructive attack with “to whom it may concern”, and its little bro in the form if the orem fw190? Yes, allies have some better planes but it doesn’t make the german planes dogshit
I play both plane types on both factions in normandy since 5 months. the american planes both are significantly better than the german ones. the JU188 is great, but the p47 is far above it.
especially playing against strong teams, which i constantly do in vs-queuing, the p47 outperforms the Ju188 in terms of damage and especially in terms of killing enemy planes.
the p47 is the best attacker plane and simultaneously one of the best fighter planes, meaning the allies only need 1 plane in the air while the axis need 2, giving them 12,5% more infantry power on the ground.
