Dude I have both the FG 42 and the M2 Carbine, the M2 Carbine has MUCH worse muzzle rise. It literally has more vertical recoil than the FG 42, if you looked at game stats you would know that. Also the FG 42 has HALF the recoil of the G43, so I don’t understand the mental gymnastics you’re using here.

The lvl 25 bar is better than the fg42. So you guys both failed at explaining how the fg42 is op. You’ve only accomplished in explaining to me how great of a gun it is.

People rushing down a single faction, enjoying the best that faction has to offer, and complaining about the best that the opposite faction has to offer.
Meanwhile, other people (like me) being far behind in research due to bringing down both factions of a campaign more or less at the same time (“join any team”), and hoping that the salty screams of vocal one-siders don’t get all good things from both sides nerfed/ruined, before we even get to unlock them.

Yep, the fg42 isn’t even Op. It’s like the bar, except the lvl 25 bar is way better. The bar at full auto has better control.

Difference in vertical recoil between M2 and FG42 is about 14%…noriceable but “MUCH worse” is something else. The G43 e.g. has ~10% more recoil than the M1 Garand is that also “MUCH worse”?
Additionally there are other things in play not only the pure recoil stat. G43 and M1 are good examples for it. The actual diference in recoil is much less than the felt difference in recoil because the sights of the BAR are worlds better than that of the G43 for follow up shots. With the G43 after every shot your target disappears behind the block of the notch - no problem with the Garand. Actually if the Garand would have a 20rnds mag it would be better than a FG…fuck that full auto mode. If you go on the range to test it you will notice that ~25m your second shot will go above the target even if you act against the recoil. Furthermore the mag is just enough for 1.7sec full auto…you’re just better of with fast shots in semi

The FG 42 could definitely be restricted to assaulters or gunners. The m2 should also be restricted to assaulters then.

Its not only vertical recoil that you need to count. The weight is a really important factor there as well. The FG42 is heavy enough that the gun drops down on point due to gravity. The M2 is so light it shoots to the moon and beyond. The guns are not comparable that is how much worse the M2 is. M2 is a smg and the FG42 is a battle rifle, smg and a lmg in one gun and every German soldier has it.
You can play the FG42 all round any way you like it and it works well. The M2 you can get working but you shoot it from the hip and learn the bullet spread control cs:go assault rife style. But everything over mid range you can better get a pistol over the M2
Not saying it is not balanced, I like how the current balance is in the game. Just giving my experience shooting both guns.

Yeah I have it and the Thompson is about 5 times better heck I’d rather run a sten then the m2 my thoughts are if they are gonna keep the FG-42 as it is then change the bar its the only gun that comparable to it which I think would be a horrible idea btw
