Maybe because this one isn’t an APC firstly, got a turret + cal 50 and a nice howitzer and corresponding shell at a proper BR

Well, that’s very bad and dull dogma. Nothing else.
It’s quite difference between having Kwk 37 on BR2 (MM queue BR 1-3) and having the nerfed variant of it on BR3 (MM queue BR 2-5).

My point is that they are both open topped, thin armored, artillery lobber. If the 251/9 was in the vehicle slot it would perform basically the same way
I honestly think the devs haphazardly made it an APC. They have a history of haphazard decisions. Like when they gave the Gewehr 43K a fantasy burst or when they made the Soviet Paratroopers have no unique weapon and sell you a premium during event
More or Less the 251/9 would be a stug even worse, you don’t have a full track so driving off road is boring depending of the surface, more open than the M8, even at BR II it would be a No
We don’t see it often used with the 75 mm, even myself i use it BR V setup as mobil rally and excepionnally i can use it for clean some shot with HE but otherwise
it’s not the worst thing they made, feel less strange having this one as APC than having Fedorov spam or carrying 5 pazerfaust on one soldier
Fair point, but I could argue that while this being a game sure there are fantastic liberties but each thing in this game should be represented as close to how it realistically was as possible. I can pull 5 Panzerfausts out of thin air, but the armor calculations in this game are at best close to real life.
So, in real life the 251/9 no longer carried infantry so it should just be a vehicle. Sure infantry can randomly spawn out of thin air, but they spawn on vehicles that did carry infantry
the point is as a tank of the same br no one would play it, as there are far better ‘tanks’
That is true that most players ride the meta, there’s no arguing that. However for me it’s about integrity.
Sure are you going to see 90% of vehicles in this game that aren’t the top meta, no, but they’re still there. We can’t just only care about the top of the top, like they shouldn’t add anything else or we might as well scrap everything else.
You may not see 90% of vehicles, but hey just once in a while you do. They’re all part of the largest, greatest mechanized war of all time
