Change Damage of Federov Rifle 1912 to 11.8

Compared to all TT Br 2 semi-auto rifle, the Fedorov 1912 has a whopping damage of 12.7 compared to its contemporaries {11.6 (from japan), then 11.3 (germany), then finally the 7.3 (USA)}. Isn’t it a bit too overkill for its br? So i suggest changing the damage to 11.8 to keep it in line with having a different feel compared to its counterparts while simultaneously not overly nerfing it.

I am suggesting this in the hopes that when indeed the Japan vs Soviet front opens up, atleast it will be a bit balanced against each other. I really want japan and soviet mains to enjoying playing against each other and not devolve into cursing one another because of balance issues, and to also increase the amount of Japan mains :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I think the more pressing issue is reload speed. It has the reload speed of the Gewehr 43, at BR II. While damage is higher, most aside from the M1 Carbine will still one shot, especially when fully upgraded.

If you nerf the reload to 3 seconds or so, that would put it in line with the Armaguerra and Type Hei.

Its sight is actually fine tho? its not like the mannlicher m95 where you cant see anything when its dark.

Im fine with the armaguerra having reload speed of 3.2 since it reloads by clips, no partial reloads. as for the Type Hei, its somewhat balanced by drastically having lower vertical recoil compared to fedorov.

although good point

If you really want to miss everyshot with a rifle, try the mannlicher m95, it is simply abyssmal

You know there is a 15.7 Pavesi rifle at br II for axis do you?

Semi is not a meta at br 2 so you can arm it two your assaulters squad lol.

The most fascinating part is that the best TT BR2 semi auto rifle was not only never used in WW2, it was not even ever adopted to service, not even in WW1.

Well the thing is, all of those use much weaker cartridges than the Fedorov:
7.62x54R: 3291 J
6.5x50SR Arisaka: 2666 J
6.5x52 Carcano: 2572 J
.30 Carbine: 1311 J

The best argument I think that can be made regarding damage like this would be to synchronize the damage of non-manual guns that are using the same cartridge.
For example in the Soviet tree:
SVF-12: 12.7
SVT-38: 12.0
SVT-40: 12.7
AVS-36: 13.2
AVT-40: 12.7

I don’t see why the SVT-38 and AVS-36 should have different damage values to the rest of the 7.62x54Rs. I also think that the Machine Guns should have their damage increased from 12.0 to 12.7 to match the semi-autos.

Do you see everyone using Pavesi? no? Hence i said Techtree. Im fine having somewhat op weapons as long as they are Events or Rare, heck im even on board having a russian equivalent of MKB 35/III at br 2 as long as its not Techtree

A point could be made there, but again, those things you mentioned are for balancing. God knows what happens if we actually make the guns “realistic”

Fedorov 1912 is cracked for BR2, it’s better than the BR3 G41 in all aspects except magazine size.

It’s a pre-WW1 gun, 11.8 is generous for it.

Also remember that people complained about KoKo rifle being pointless? KoKo is a great BP gun for BR2 but Fedorov 1912 is so overpowered that it makes KoKo pointless.

I would honestly like it if damage was based completely on the cartridge, but if they did that they’d have to double the amount of BRs in the game. I just want consistency, as in “Semi-autos and machine guns = damage halved compared to bolt action”

Because for some reason pre-WW1 means less powder or something…?
Meaning the G98 should do less damage than the K98…?

Nothing gonna do that lol. (Maybe good maps could tho)

im currently enjoying the koko over the TT it feels like it lands more shots when spamming it inside buildings

japans maps are only good for br2-3 going into br 5 it feels small and easy to spawn camp allies on the first points and by the second point all the allies players give up or theres not enough tickets

Good maps would help a lot. There is so much potential but DF is focused only on generic Pacific Island based on one area of the Solomon Islands.

I still cant believe they made an entire Burma update, yet only gave us ONE Burma map and ZERO Burma content in terms of Japan or the Commonwealth. (eg Jungle Carbine for the Allies)
