Whenever I have one of the games opened and try to launch the other (be it to play or check vehicle damage models), I get an error about anti-cheat and have to close the opened game.
How come two Gaijin games dislike each other’s anti-cheats?

no.
that’s simply how Easy anti cheat works.
you can’t have two same programs active per time using the same anti cheat.
the same would happen if you open for example robocraft ( for whatever reason )or enlisted / war thunder
( but essentially, games that both have easy anti cheat )

a bit annoying having to check things multiple times and having to switch game each time to check.

It was the same even before EAC. I think they use the same log in server for all of their games and it only lets you into one game at a time. Maybe it’s an antiquated system (as in “don’t fix it if it works”) or maybe it’s some sort of additional account protection measure.
If all you are doing is checking vehicle stats, armour, etc, then I think you can open WT without EAC and run it, but not join games…
Not entirely sure, but I think I’ve had a case recently where I’d turned off EAC for some reason and could still open the game and it only prompted me to use EAC when I tried to join a game.
No that’s not true - I could run bother in the early days.
that’s why I use Steam Ingame browser and have the default webpage set to the WT Wiki this way I can see what armor the tanks have and the AP shells and HE filler as well.
