I am still reeling from this and possibly I am in a state of denial… But:
Is it true that under the new proposed and planed system we will not be able to pick what Map we play on but be subject to random maps from all (extant) campaigns that pertain to the faction we have selected to play?
And that the only way to avoid maps I loath is to ‘Dessert’ ? When they come up?
Do you desert battles now if you dont like them?
If you do, what will change?

I Never Leave games, and I avoid Theaters i don’t like the maps for, Like Normandy and Moscow.
I only play them If I need to for the daily challenge.
What we will get is War Thunder with Infantry. With most of its terrible mechanics. If you want to see Enlisted after this Patch, go play a few rounds of War Thunder. And no. As far as i got it, you will not be able to select a certain Map or Theatre.

And they said, maps will be distributed with account to what weapons you have, so if you have Stg 44 and high end weapons, you have much bigger possibility to be in Berlin rather that in Moscow. But they said you can still get moscow map, but if you will get Moscow map, you can imagine its some Polish town in 1944 winter on Eastern front.
So, we can select the faction and squads we want to run, then the game will choose for us what map we get.
Asuming Italy is a Faction, I can load all Italian Stuff and get North Africa, or all Japanese stuff and get the pacific?
Japanese will have its own tree, that stays same, and yes, they will be only in Pacific.
Idk how will it be with Italy, there were no definite answers to how will it be with British and Italians, at least none i have seen soo far. I hope they get seperate trees, then Italy would fight only in Tunisia for now.

Currently italy and commowealth are US and germany reskinned update bring them as full faction with tech tree unique uniform ecc…

If that is true, im really glad, as i love to play only Italians in Tunis already, this will give them much more options for weapons, vehicles and planes. Same goes for Brits, i will rather use them alone without US.

Yeah, those are 2 im gonna be playing most. Germany is overplayed for me, same with US and USSR.

If you were allowed to pick maps, it would be no different than campaigns.
The whole reason they’re making the change is because the playerbase can’t support picking your own campaign/maps.
