The 17 pdr and US 76mm for example had muchless HE filling for their HE rounds, leading to 75mm gun tanks being retained for that purpose - since by far and away the most common target for tanks was enemy infantry.
T-34-85 was designed for AT role. To keep up with growing armor thickness on german side (there were some problems even in 1941, but its escaleted with introducion of panther as supposedly future main tank (not saying that panther was good, acctually it was the worst if we bring cost-effectivness. Underdeveloped, perishable and not suited for doctrine. But it made first good look)). It was only reason why they used ZiS-S-53. Not supposedly better HE couse bigger gun. Infantry support tanks ware already in service, they were doing well against infantry and there was no need to upgrade them (yet). And its not my opinion. That was just what soviets wanted. Tank with better AT abilities. And they designed it. And I will say it again, couse low qualty/outdeted type of dedicated ammo, 85mm had worse AT perfomance than 76mm. Bringing HE rounds to this discussion is pointless we dant talk about them right now, and ZiS-S-53 gun wasnt introduced for useing it anyway. Its just running away from the topic.
ZiS-S-53 IS F AT GUN SO EXCUSUING IT WORSE AT PERFORMANCE BY BRINGING HE ROUNDS AS ARGUMENT IS OFF TOPIC;]
So you are specifically upset about being one shot killed?
Keep in mind that even a Stuart can one shot a tiger if they know where to aim. Heck any tank with HE rounds can one shot a Tiger from any distance.
My point is, any tank can kill any tank (from the same campaign). That is the game balance. It would not be very fun or fair for other players if they could not kill you just because you played for longer, would it?
I am trying to tell you that any tank, even the thickest armored ones, can be killed in one shot by even the smallest tanks. So there is no point whining about your tank getting killed in one shot.
how convenient xd
almost like you wouldnt have any idea about subject, just denied statemant bc it didnt fit into your ww2 popular history knowledge.
It was fun, thank you for conversation commieboo:)
The wasn’t a conversation - there was you repeating “popular history knowledge” which is essentially mythology - much of it written by German generals in the 40’s and 50’s when they were pretty much the only source of info about the USSR, and still accepted by the ignorati.
they wrote about t34 exactly opposite what I said xd
T-34-85 vs M4A2 tests were made by f soviets in kubinka. Also in USA. Nothing I wrote was ever said by germans.
that is mythology (t34 was best tank of war by design and production!! Great stalinium ) my dear commieboo if you looking for one.
Part of soviet great patriotic war myth that is still alive in modern days as we see xd
wasnt converstation couse you couldnt even constructively denied anything I said apart by saying: ,you wrong and i wont tell you why". Well, to be fair you cant do anything more, whole history is against you or rather against great patriotic war propaganda. Its just fun that you will not admit it and at the same time cant explain denying it.
