Bullet penetration is unacceptable

Why are we even using high caliber weapons, shells or any form of artillery if a picket fence can stop all the bullets and shrapnel?

I dont know if this has been beat to death, but I feel strongly this is one of the biggest issues with the core gameplay. We have shovels and engineers for a reason.

Probably because AA / HMG were absolutely retarded with insane penetration & 0 dmg reduction.
I guess theres no “easy” fix so the fix to issue was remove penetration entirely.

dude i had a lamp post block a 50mm AP tank shell 50 meters away, then there was this one guy who survived a nade to his feet from my GL and the real kicker, my rockets from Bazooka cannot kill a group of people even though the rocket is shot at their feet. So yea, the devs are ‘listening’ and ‘working’ on it and yet here we are.

It does need a rework, thought… picket fences now save enemies from lmg fire until broken…

But the worst are bread baskets in Tunisia. If someone use a bread basket as a shield, even your rifle cannot go through…

Its a DF thing to address issues with weird “fixes”.
Still, rocket launchers in WW2 which dont use HE warheads shouldnt work against inf.

Cannot argue with that. Before hmg, bullet penetration was fine, dangerous but fine. Then hmg came and ppl abused it.

What we had before the change was at the very least just as bad, but also a whole lot more annoying and disruptive. It was a dumb feature since forever, people just weren’t abusing it on a significant enough scale. Even though PPD / PPSh were ridiculous in Moscow when penetration was a thing.

and the rocket cores are depleted leninium which delete tanks, and if necessary, explode in high HE if no tank is detected near impact zone

The bullet penetration change has been my least favorite to date. I know it is a bandaid fix (even though barricades block HMG bullets…), but I hope they bring it back. It was a mechanic I used a lot with various different weapons.
