Browning m1919a6 should have more recoil

Why a MG that was not even designed nor suited for infantry cobat is one of if not the best MG, is yet another one of DF’s misteries.

Did you even use it? I was so extremely disappointed with this weapon.
MG42 early and MG45 are still way better weapons. 25 rounds don’t do a big difference for me.

Ppl say it’s very good. Since I don’t own it nor I plan to, I use other ppl’s opinion.

You are so far the only person I can recall who has a negative opinion on this gun.

Okay, that’s understandable. But my personal experience with MG15 is very meh.

yea I dont see it at all too weirdly enough but when I do see it I always prefer it to any german mg its just so much more better with 100 rounds and no recoil

Besides the arguable aesthetic (I don’t like it),

It’s got the same issue as any other gun with extremely high DPS: it’s great at quickly gunning down multiple grouped targets at close range, but otherwise it always wastes an awful lot of ammo.

this only applies if they fire same cartridge.
.50 cal (browning) produces 13k-15k J of energy
7.62x39 (ak-47, rpd, rpk) produces ~2k-2.2k J of energy
.30 cal (m2 carbine) produces 1.3k J of energy
7.92×33 kurz produces ~1.9k J of energy

formula for recoil is:
Recoil energy = 0.5 x {[ (bullet mass x bullet velocity) + (powder charge mass x powder charge velocity) / 1000]2} / Gun mass

or you can use recoil velocity
MgVg+MbVb=0
Vg=-Mb*Vb/Mg
where you have Mass of gun, Velocity of gun, Mass of bullet, Velocity of bullet.

dont exactly consider them to have massive recoil either.

Yes, but still the difference between 30-06 (M1919) and 7.92x57 (FG) is insignificant

Stalingrad is infamous for having different “experimental” (= monumentally crappy) recoil mechanics for MGs.

that is true. too many weapons were mentioned in regards to recoil, didnt know on what exactly you were referring to.

Maybe it’s not crapy.
But nobody really knows since it’s bugged and recoil has been turned 90° for like a year now even though all it reuquires is a change in 2 lines of code.

Be it bugged or intentional, MGs recoiling downwards feel just wrong.

dude I try to hit something at long range and even if the gun is braced the bullets just go everywhere

Answer is above.
Berlin / Moscow none of the MG’s you mentioned have massive recoil.
Either way DP27 is easier to control full-auto due to slower rof.
As long as you shoot short bursts 2-3 max regardless how fast, the mg34/42 performs just fine.

I never really had much problem against M1919A6, probably because few players use them anyway since by that time they have access to M2 carbine or drum thompson. I did get “random” headshots from AI, but that is normal from them.
Its supposed to be the best lmg of the western allies, but honestly, it doesnt really cut it.
Since MGs are a joke, no one really cares, only people with skill or interest in them make use of the sorry few MGs in the game.

I suspect this will change when they implement bipod deployment.

I fixed it for you.

It shouldn’t have a ton of recoil, while it fires the .30-06 round which in itself is powerful, but because the gun itself is heavy (32 lbs) and has a low rate of fire (compared to its german counterparts) of about 400-600 rounds per min, it shouldn’t have a lot of recoil.

Because that sounds pretty dumb.
