I saw one of them land behind a Stuart about the width of a building away and destroy the Stuart. I know tanks are usually resistant to external explosions (with the exception of thrown TNT in this game which should be a meme by now). However, that Stuart was quite a bit away from those rockets and should’ve survived. Could tanks possibly get better protection against those HE rockets?

The rockets on both sides are very powerful, if you check the war thunder wiki for example you can get more detailed breakdowns of them. For example the Americans get the M8 rockets whilst the Germans have the Wfr.Gr.21, a quick look on the wiki shows the size of each.
As what these rockets are capable of doing the M8 page states that it’s more or less equal to a HE round from the M4A3 105mm howitzer Sherman, now just imagine what the German rocket can do seeing as it’s 100mm bigger.
It is really hard to spot and aim rockets/bombs currently, if they made it take an exact hit on tanks, I doubt anyone would ever get tank kills from a plane.
The M8 rocket has 2.3 kg of TNT equivalent. The Bf110s rockets have 10.17 kg of TNT equivalent.
It is easy. Very easy. Just dont use biplanes in Moscow.

Rockets are easy to land if be spot the tanks, since in normandy most tanks play the stationary sniping game. IMO I feel direct hits should be the only thing that counts for tank. Right now Missiles are just bombs especially for germany in normandy where you point them where you want them exactly.
German rockets are dumb. It is very unpleasant to spawn in a match, move 10m from spawn and get one of thoose rockets that wipe out half of the team, also it killed me too many times trough walls and the point of impact was at least 20m away. Compared to the 210mm rocket the M8 is a actual joke
