Berlin is now open to all BRs!

Also same, but maybe it will be more bearable with low BR gear and not full-auto and HE spam…

It definitely wasn’t “overwhelmingly negative” about Berlin, lol.

It’s funny how HA purist is pissed off that Volkssturm stuff will finally be able to play on matching maps.

Beyond the banned bazy, are more meritorious figures in the community going to be commemorated?

Bullshit. Why not open them for all factions too while you’re at it.

You don’t understand why biplanes, T-26, BT-7, T-28, T-50, Autoblinda, Semovente, that Italian tank and Pz II, Madsen, PPD-34, MP-28, etc. are unhistorical for 1945 Berlin combat?

The “Historical Accuracy” angle on this change, whilst it’s a overall position I’m very sympathetic with, does miss the mark on this topic, because the Battle Rating system is not based on the historical use but rather on the performance of weapons and vehicles.

It also forgets that Berlin, being at the end of the war, really had Germany throw in everything they had to hold the city, STGs and KTs fought alongside kriegsmodell 98Ks and Volkssturm Rifles, so making it available to all BRs does make sense in that way.

My only problem is that I just personally don’t like the Berlin maps (and playing low BR Germany was my way to avoid it), and that adding another Campaign to the low BR rotation has made the map prefference system even more useless (we need more likes and dislikes, and dislikes should actually ban maps).

Now it’s time to do the same for Moscow (minus the Monastery), and let Tunisia to be played up to BR4. And remove Stalingrad from BR5.

Only very vocal minority hated it completely. With working map filters that could outright ban entire campaigns it could work pretty well and satisfy both camps.

Really?

Great! I haven’t played BR 4+5 for almost 2 years to avoid seeing Berlin, and now the crap is being released for all BR! The game keeps getting worse … what a pity!

Good news !

Berlin maps are actually more fun at BR2-3 than at BR5.

yeah i know how to use ban map system

Thanks, yes, this is known - this will be updated soon too. But, on the server-side, you can get Berlin now in low BR - this was the case since this news’ release.

Unfortunately, my friend, this is not the case with the overwhelming majority of BR1-2 vehicles and almost all Soviet weapons.

Let’s see what had been phased out/withdrawn from service/had no chance of being in Berlin :

  1. T-26
  2. BT-7
  3. BT-7A
  4. T-50
  5. T-60
  6. T-70
  7. T-28
  8. PPD-34
  9. Madsen
  10. Mosin M1907
  11. Mosin Dragoon
  12. Fedorov 1912 (fake)
  13. Winchester
  14. I-153
  15. Hurricane
  16. P-40
  17. MiG-3
  18. Yak-1
  19. M3 Lee
  20. Valentine
  21. PPT-27
  22. Chauchat
  23. BA-11
  24. IL-2 1941
    etc.

On the German side one could make an argument that “in late war everything goes”, but the following stuff was hopelessly obsolete/fully destroyed and had close to zero chance ever being used in 1945:

  1. MP-28
  2. MP-35
  3. MP-34o
  4. ZB-26
  5. Pz II
  6. Pz III B/J/J1
  7. Pz IV E/F1/F2
  8. Pz 38t
  9. Early Stug IIIs
  10. HS 123
  11. AB 41
  12. Italian M something tank
  13. Semovente
  14. Early Ju 87s
  15. IAR
  16. Potez
  17. Early BF109s
    Etc.

I mean, back in Berlin campaign days there was a reason why we didn’t start with PPD 34 and MP 28 again

But alas, this game feels more and more doomed and failed

Taking all the steps away from WW2 and none towards it

all in all a decision that will bring players more fun. now do the same for moscow & tunisia, these maps desperately need to be played in more environments.
“b-b-but these maps are not made for strong tanks” → highly overused and overrated sentiment.
it will work out fine & what matters most is players having fun on fun maps and these 2 campaigns have insanely high quality maps.

That’s the thing, IF we could outright ban Campaigns.

Instead we got the same shitty War Thunder system that instead of being based on Campaigns is based on specific maps/missions, and allows for “likes” (nobody knows what this means in practice) and “dislikes” (supposedly they make those maps less frequent, in practice it ignores what you “disliked”).

For example I have disliked every and all Confrontation maps. Despite this 1/3rd of my matches are held in Confrontation. What’s the point?

Either Darkjin gives us hard bans on entire Campaigns (at our own risk of longer queue times), or whenever they permamently open all maps to all BRs I will most likely stop playing altogether. Ever since the last Halloween event I’ve seen this game only get worse, and if they double down on appealing to CoD kide, it will stop being the game it once appealed to me and thus I’ll leave.

Who the FCK was giving positive feedback about this? sure as hell not me.
Why would I like to fight with early war tech in late war map…

For me I want MORE Historical matchups and according Maps paired with tech, NOT less…
the hell

It should be that all the voices one was willing to hear were listened to. I remember there were quarrels once. Has everyone forgotten?
