Beltfed versions of other MG42 variants?

I believe it would be interesting to have beltfed (100 round capacity) versions of the MG39, MG42 early, and MG45 as either event awards or battlepass weapons (in order to keep them still rare and exclusive as their original drum versions)

Additionally, a beltfed MG45 would provide Germany something comparable to the US ANM2 stinger, although with half of the magazine capacity

Don’t forget about a belt-fed MG 34! I think it should be research tree

Seems hard to balance, I think it would be too good for BR4 but too weak for BR5 unless you give it one of the massive 250rnd belts they used for emplacements

I personally think MG34 has a high enough rate of fire as it is, at a certain point, rate of fire becomes “preference” instead of straight up an upgrade.

sounds cool but…

im not suggesting germany gets anything for the tech tree

fair enough.

cough the belt fed MG 34 should still be RT though cough

The other MGs you mentioned were basically prototypes so them being individual uniques or even a squad is fine, but the belt MG 34 should be RT because it was their standard MG. It’s fitting to have Germany’s both standard MGs in the RT

They could just give MG 34S or MG34/41 IIRC they had above 1400 RPM and thats why they were not chosen during 1939-42 competition instead MG39 was chosen which later became 39/41(Or Mg 42 early which is in game) and then finally MG 42

edit: The reason it was not chosen was because it was not as reliable as other options and was more expensive , not that it had a high fire rate

well…

germany was kinda building everything around machineguns.

kinda like the Us.
except the us stucked around with the same ones for over 60 years and didn’t proceed to make several iterations of it… kinda.

I can’t find any info on that so I may be mistaken, but this seems wrong.
The main reason germans wanted to replace MG34 was to reduce production costs. Some sources claim that MG42 had up to 1500 theoretical rpm (an later MG45 with 1800 theoretical rpm) so rejection of MG34s and MG34/41 because of too big fire rate doesn’t make much sense.
But those are just my speculations so I may be completely wrong.

Yeah seems you are right Imma quote my source
“Army requested an increase in the rate of fire of the MG 34, and during the modifications in 1941-1942, the MG 34S and MG 34/41 were developed, which were lighter and had a higher rate of fire.
The weight of the MG 34S and MG 34/41 was reduced to 11 kg, and the rate of fire was increased to 1700 rpm and 1400 rpm respectively, but this did not contribute to an increase in the service life of the weapon. A batch of 300 MG 34/41 was sent to the Eastern Front for military testing.
Despite all the advantages, the MG 34 had significant drawbacks - sensitivity to extreme weather conditions, dirt, as well as relatively complex and expensive production, all these problems could not be solved by modification.”
Anyhow my bad man

There is NOTHING wrong with asking for my German toys to be Accurate as they should be

That is true, but that does not excuse you from derailing every topic with that request.

Aside from the fact that 1500 rpm was more the exeption than the norm for the mg 42 making your request a bit outlandish to anyone else (Twice even if you also concider balance between factions).

You did more to harm to the goodwill towards the german playerbase by just constantly complaining about the new toy germany finally got making the entire playerbase look ungratefull and beeing out of touch with the game.
People might just block support for anything germany would want just to spite those “crying out of touch mains”. Making you request possibly even counterproductive in fullfilling that goal at times.

Agree,

Only, is it not better to add the beltfed MG 39 to the TT?

Edit: was confusing MG34 for MG39

Eh? There are better options to add to the tech tree like the MG15/08 or something as a maxim-tokarev alternative

The MG39 should remain somewhat exclusive

Oh wait lol i was confusing the MG34 for the MG39

No you right

Something alternative to the Tokarev no, but can new German machine guns to German TT like the MG34/41, MG81, MG81Z and Cönders MG especially the latter since it is time for Germany to have a Prototype Weapon Enlisted in its TT How the other Factions

Why would they put the Condors MG in the tech tree? It’s not even a real machine gun, its just a belt fed SMG
