Basic AI Control Keybinds Enlisted needs

This is a short one. Enlisted is sorely lacking in some basic AI managment options.

These are “Basic” commands that are featured in other games with AI squads. They are sorely needed in Enlisted to help manage the AI’s inability to make the right decisions and their…“special” tendencies.

Basic AI commands Enlisted Needs: (Keybinds and Rosewheel)

Stance:

Keybind: Force AI to immediently prone (and stay prone)
Keybind: Force AI to immediently crouch (Possible make AI in crouch engage more actively)
Keybind: Cancel Stance, (returns stance to AI autonomy)

*Note AI will continue with any movement command, this just force adjusts their Stance while doing it

Reason: Allows you to react to danger and potentially save your clueless AI. Taking fire? bomb nearby? Prone immediently! Low cover? Crouch for smaller silhouette

Movement:

Keybind: Stop!!!..Immediently cancels/overides all AI movement/regroup orders, they do not move from where they stand

Reason: Allows you to react to Danger and save AI from walking into something, Artillery, Mines, Concealed MG? tank… I dont want them to return to me, just hold position where they are.

Squad Behavior “Passive Mode” Adjustment:

Change to; AI in passive mode do not fire their weapons and they “ALWAYS” sprint (If standing). They can and will Melee anything that is in close proximity (use bayonet charge)

Reason: AI can fall a long way behind the player when trying to maneuever, or spend far too long crossing an open area. The only reason to use passive mode is to get them somewhere undistracted, makes sense to move faster aswell.

Wishlist Changes: (Additional)

AI Tether Range:

Increase AI tether Range (Or remove completely). I sort of get why AI Tether is a thing…but its a huge limitation that makes AI do really dumb things at really bad times…Just having a “STOP” keybind would help with this.

Enlisted AI struggles hard with Decisions… at least please give us some more “Basic” control over our Muppets. Thanks!

We may also need some “formation” options, such as Vertical formation, horizontal formation, circular formation, V-shaped formation. This is somewhat similar to the formation of a warship, but also applicable to infantry.

Agreed, I would love better formation control! But I would say thats leaning more toward advanced (more work to get working)…I tried to keep it to just really basic stuff that we should have to control our squads for basic decisions they arent making

Most of this stuff is present in some shape or form…there is just no specific keybind

They should also fix the bug where the AI will randomly start charging towards enemies ignoring the players orders. Too many times i have commanded my squad to stay inside the point only for one of them to start randomly running towards enemies and dying.

This seems to also happen with independent AI commanders. I play a lot of custom matches and sometimes when im attacking i see the entire defending enemy team abandoning their point and running straight at the attackers

I get this alot too. Do you micro your squads? (as in give them commands 1 by 1?) I find this is when it usually happens. Some guy will run off looking for the guy that downed me

I rarely micro. I just park them all into some dark room only for some to escape. I guess it also could be caused by nearby grenade triggering the need to run.

Maybe…But it seems to me they lock onto someone (AI or Player) and bee-line after them…like they want to melee them even though they could be 50 meters away

These formations you mentioned are called, File, Line and Diamond.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to add something which would allow bots to shoot in one direction, just like it is with MGs on tanks for example, where they follow your main cannon

This is definitely needed, the Ai sucks right now.

A suppressing fire at this location ability would be nice. Even if they just fire at your spot indicator (around it)…

But again thats a more advanced request. I

I do wonder how many people actually tell their bots to do anything…or if just left on follow
