Barbed wire buff

If you are playing exclusively against bot teams, then yes, I can imagine it happening frequently to you. But we shouldn’t balance weapons based on how effective they are against bot teams. Because then we need to nerf everything into the ground.

England tried a crazier version during WW2 to defend their island from a German amphibious invasion.
They had pipes that pumped oil into the coastal waters that could be lit on fire to keep boats away. Today if that happened people would loose their minds.

It should be pointed out that a barbed wire needs two explosive charges to blow up, and the explosion damage of explosive charges cannot pass through the barbed wire. Therefore, your two explosive charges can only destroy one or two barbed wires, because it is difficult for you to make the explosive charges explode on all the barbed wires.
But there are too many shelling and air strikes, and they will easily destroy the barbed wire outside.

Which explosive charges were you using, and what part of the barbwire did they detonate by?

Satchel charge.I retested the test, and it took two explosive charges to destroy it when it exploded above the barbed wire or not immediately below it.
The explosion won’t go through the barbed wire, because I can hide behind the barbed wire unscathed, and I have never seen an explosive charge destroy two barbed wires at the same time.(Unless it explodes among them.)
TNT needs two explosives to destroy the barbed wire.
The craters produced by explosive charges can also destroy fortifications.(Including the Czech hedgehog.)

It’s not easy to let an explosive charge destroy the barbed wire, because you have to throw it very close, which is difficult to guarantee in actual combat.
As you can see, even if it explodes at this distance above, the explosive charge cannot directly destroy the barbed wire.

So the barbed wire really doesn’t need to be strengthened, it’s strong enough.

It wasn’t barbed wire, it was concertina wire, which is what we should be using. (Even in WWI they were converting the Barbed wire into concertina wire.)

The WWII pre-fab concertina wire was chest high (there was no jumping over it like players do with the barbed wire in game)

I personally have no problem with explosives taking the stuff out as much as I do trying to build fortifications to at least slow the enemy only to watch them jump over it. As you said, you can put it in a dug trench. (I like to put it in the trench and on the bank of the friendly side) but you don’t have enough time to dig in most cases.

I am all for explosives packs and TNT taking it out as long as it is done by an engineer.

I disagree. It sounds like they need to correct the blast radius of the TNT.
I’m going to do a few tests of my own.

Barbwire gets decimated by most explosives currently. Which is why we are asking for the buff. It usually doesn’t last long enough to even make a difference currently.

Also, I would like to note that the testing range isn’t always reliable. I know I’ve tested some things in the past and the testing range reacts differently than a standard game. I’m not sure why.

I suggest double checking your tests in a custom game or standard lobby to make sure.
