No, it has too much of an advantage against the earlier tanks. I still think it’s too strong. The germans should get some sort of decent TD instead of the useless pz3B. Something like a panzerjager1 or a sturmpanzer. Cause, let’s face it, you’re much, much more likely to take down a panther with a stuart than a T-50 with any of the first 3 german tanks.
And this is the same issue as your kv would have, just to a lesser extent.
Thanks, i figured out these things already, it’s honestly a real pain. Historically seen on this topic the Germans had no better stuff in 1941 than P III J and PIV F1. Just wonder why this 45mm gun can pen a PIV F1 so easily even if you position yourself at and angle to your opponent.
Because germans didn’t figure out that sloped armor is better than flat armor, so no matter how many extra steel plates they put on it, it just doesn’t work.
Tanks, are not indestructible. And they can be easily destroyed if you take some time to watch how other people do it.
Now, I do understand that Grey Zoning Tanks are a problem, one which I have brought up many times in this game, but at times you can still take even those out with some effort. It just takes some practice.
Most maps that exist in this game, have really good out of the way places to build AT guns which can hammer into the sides of the tanks to kill them quickly. The Devs do need to work on making them easier to place, like they did with Rally Points. That might help the issues a little bit so there are not obvious spots where you place your AT Gun.
I’ve killed many of the Vaunted T50’s in Moscow, and Jumbo’s by being sneaky that way.
Did it take a while to develop that particular skill? Yes. I at one point as well complained about the Jumbo’s on Normandy. A map when, a pair spawned and camped, it was almost an auto win for their team. Namely as well because I found the flight controls a bit daunting in this game, so my only hard counter (or so I thought) was planes, turned ineffectual.
Then I started practicing running squads into the grey. And it worked.
Infantry tend to take the same routes to objectives, and rarely stick around to support tanks. So after a lot of bad matches, I finally found I could go the edge of the map, park a squad and go one by one in until I got a good landing on a Det pack. That changed my fortunes greatly.
Tanks have a limited FOV, and if they are camping chances are they are zoomed in with their gunner, which reduces what they can see even more. Unless they are very attentive, you can get in and around them and take them out.
There are very few truly safe places for Tanks that are beyond your reach as infantry. Be it with an engineer, AT Squad, or just Infantry with Det Packs.
You just need to take some time and learn how to do it.
Nope. You can’t angle too much, otherwise you’ll expose your side. Certainly not to the default angle of a T50. And then you take into account the fact that you can angle sloped armor…
Yes its double angle And ofc, u can’t to the angle to stiff otherwise your side is done, was with a BT-7 (same gun) a bit at practice range and yes u just can’t do anything about it.
Your post was awesome. It takes intelligence, patience and a lot of learning to get there. Most players want the path of least resistance and I now see there is a wide gap between the masters of this game and everyone else. The forums prove this daily. Thank you
Thanks. I try and help where I can.
I was one of those players in my early days looking for an easy fix to a complicated problem.
It took a multitude of deaths and trial and error to get it down right. But if you put in the work, its rewarded.
Some of the people I play with came from watching me stream, and others came to watch me hammer tanks.
