My plan is to grind good Soviet gear before progression change
I already grinded everything in Moscow except the last tank and my plan is to switch to Berlin to pick the avt-40, the last weapon on my list
My issue is, should I keep grinding Berlin after AVT-40
I heard IS-1 is just a bigger slower t-34-85 and IS-2 takes ages to reload. I heard t-34-85 is still the best soviet tank in Berlin lol
As for rd-44, I heard it’s not very good and especially now that dp-27 became an assault rifle I don’t think this gun is all that good
So are is tanks and rd-44 worth grinding for or should I grind axis after avt-40
I would go to SG if you have full access or grind it anyway and see if they transfer the progress anyway because apart from rifles and SMGs, there is pretty much only planes and maybe the 81mm mortar.

The campaign always felt very empty with players and now I’m not going to buy it if campaigns are getting merged together
Tbh I like the RD-44 and the IS2 with the faster reload perk makes it much more bearable. And actually the IS2 is really good since you can Pen a panther from the front hull armour, making them much less trolly and easy to deal with. Also when they add the Tiger 2 H (which has a more armoured mantlet than the Tiger 2 P), the T-34-85 won’t be able to kill it from the front while the IS-2 will still be able to.
Tbh I would also grind out axis Berlin if you have the time and patience as well since their gear late game is some of the best in the game.
Not gonna lie ever since I saw an IS-2 get OHK by a Panzer IV from the front it doesn´t seem as cool anymore. Any T-34 can deal with Panthers from the front too so the IS-2 isn´t even essential. Rest of late game gear is pretty good though.
if you like playing soviets, the IS tank series is absolutely worth it, same goes for planes.
the incoming update will bring either some more campaign levels for the current system or just new additional content for the new system. in both cases you will need to have unlocked the late war stuff to get access to the new stuff, so either way grinding berlin soviets is worth it.
but if all you need is ppd/pssh & t34, then moscow or stalingrad are perfectly enough.
I’ll look into it. I do have to note that I’m a casual f2p player and maybe I won’t unlock everything in time. But it’s definitely better to have fully unlocked soviets than partially unlocked allies/axis
Not really IS-2 is only good against infantry, people say it can pen Panther hull but half of the time you will bounce off it’s armor and then have to wait 20sec for another rng shell, if Panther or Tiger angle then you can’t pen anything besides turret ring and turret ofc which also has high chance of bouncing and not killing entire crew, while they have time to land 3-4 shots on against you which means death. Your flimsy armor is only good on paper while in real games you will get destroyed in single shot. Your mobility is non existent,t-34 is def best soviet tank in Berlin and 2nd best tank overall in a game, first would be Tiger family with 1 and 2. RD-44 is a huge disappointment it has really low dmg per bullet while at same time having bad dispersion so it will need to be played like PPsh-41 except ppsh has no crazy vertical recoil so you will hit almost all your bullets.
It’s true, t34-85 it’s the meta gameplay, but is2 it’s funny yo clean infantry, rd44 it’s a Bad weapon, dpm it’s the Best Mg of soviet aide

Tunisia has many mid-long range maps so it won’t be as good as G43 Kurz or Stg44 or fg42 but still leagues above usual Axis smgs and if you roll closed quarters map with many buildings then have fun with 150kill+ game
Tbh the IS-2 can be meh or great fun. The AP shell is just a waste of time and the HE can more or less deal with most tanks. With infantry the HE is just weird. I’ve seen it land 5 feet from someone and not kill him but it killed 2 people 20 feet away.
I could say the IS-2 and the RD-44 even though the grind for Tanker II squad is a pain as need all 4 crew members and tanker II levels to give the loader his 2 loader exclusive perks as the tank is a pain to use without it due to the long reload. Atleast the HE can take out enemy tanks but RNG can screw you over at times.
Its just the IS-2 doesn’t completely replace my T-34-85 but instead just another tank to use depending on the situation like if I feel like using the IS-2 over dealing with fortified enemy positions.
Yes 100%, I love using the RD-44 and the IS-2 is a beast especially when killing infantry. It’s better to max out both sides now before the update otherwise they might make it more grindy for any late war equipment.
I agree the RD-44 is hands down the best russian LMG. Large mag, high ROF but not too much, and quite stable and accurate when mounted. Totally bridges the gap with Germans MGs.
