Anti-aircraft guns should be weakened

A few things can fix this problem remove the ability to build emplacements like AT guns, machine guns, HMGs, and AAA in the grey zone remove the ability for AI squamates to fire AAA(because this requires no actual skill and its basically aimbot).

Grey zone camping on an emplacement and grey zone camping in a tank are just as bad and abusive.

Do you really think that doing maneuver prevents you from getting hit? :thinking:

I shot down so many enemy AA’s because they wasn’t able to hit me, I kept their positions in mind, resupplied and moved all the way around to destroy them because they haven’t expect the unexpected.

I survive most of my confrontations as plane against AA’s. I also “play with them” until I get shot down for my greedyness. And if I can survive this, without being one of the top players then it’s nothing magical.
But fact is that 80% of the players are stupid AF, even after thousands of battles (don’t know how to mark or how to use an engineer or let’s start with “don’t have an engineer in the squads”).
Players should either learn some game basics (including flying) or accept the truth that they are more likely an XP farm for better players

AA is fine as is.

Yes, it’s called defensive flying basic air tactics and when the shooter is an actual player 90% of the time, they miss but when it’s an AI squad mate they will always hit you.

Wait AI can use AA gun?

Doing maneuvers is no guarantee of not getting hit / shot down. Tell that to the pilots who were shot down in WW2 even though they were flying maneuvers.
So why should the game be any different?!

Because it’s a game not real life and it will never be real life also those guys weren’t usually being shot at by a one bot that physically can’t miss, but many gunners in a battery with exceptional training in most cases they were extraordinarily unlucky oh and did I mention there’s no grey zone in real life so those same gunners could be killed to clear the way.

Finally someone noticed. They ALWAYS were powerful… to those taking the time using them and aiming a little.

My second highest casualty reason after revenge pilots spawning on my 6.

They are fine like so, thought. We used to have shielded quad canons ones for all factions and we could realistically use them on infantry. So it’s really not so bad now.

most people on AA are real players and not bots. nevertheless if most of the players in plane want to fly straight on enemies which feeling the consequences - well, it’s their problem then, not a game issue.
people only cry about AA because they can’t spam rockets and bombs without being safe from the ground.

AA was defenitly not that bad how everyone makes them to be. Even with the angle restriction and overheating mechanic I shot enough planes down. Why? Because it most of the time only needs 2-3 shots to connect for any aircraft to fall apart. (Except those damn IL-2’s)

Most of the time players who complain about AA being too weak don’t take their time to aim. I think right now they work perfectly fine. It’s almost too easy to use them.

Heck, they’re able to take a whole bombing run down without issues. The only time I have issues to hit the target is when my game is lagging, because potato laptop.

When?

hard to tell but if this post is referring to the conquest match I did a bit ago, I dug out a small hole to place the flak gun in, so it would be shielded from arty and rockets.
imo shovels are the greatest tool at your disposal, dig trenches, dig holes, dig everywhere

It’s not, I think most of the people here are overly focused on the first half of the argument (AA being OP), but I don’t think that’s what makes him complain, the reason he complains is because of seeing AA players just sitting there and get high rank, The feeling of unfairness led him to write this topic.
Therefore, AA does not need to be weakened in terms of gameplay, but in terms of economic benefits. Setting a score limit for AA or simply reducing the score for shooting down enemy aircraft will solve this problem.

God forbid someone may have fun or gain some score by doing anything else than run and gun, huh?

Then, as soon as 2-3 less people play AAA, all of a sudden “nerf planes” threads start popping up.

Though AA campers can be annoying they are absolutely necessary to deal with any menace in the sky.

My biggest gripe is how they cannot be targeted via artillery barrage as they are typically way back in the grey zone. This should probably change.

Something else of note, and it absolutely should change. But the German AA gun, (probably the most used of out of all factions) seems to be absolutely impervious to small arms. Just played around in practice… the US, Japanese and Russian AA guns will break after a couple magazines from BRV weapons. Now this may just be a bug that only happens in practice. But if not, the German AA is a tank.

But per your suggestion title “Anti-aircraft guns should be weakened”. I agree, but only in the sense that they should be a little more fragile. Especially that German AA!

Think they should be limited to just 1 buildable instead of 2 as well.
