I do bring this up a lot.
But for the official, ensuring the appearance rate of weapons with different performance is far more important than balance.
so
We now have newbie killers who use level 2 and 3 equipment to kill novices to gain a sense of self-superiority.
And the idiot parasites who abuse level 3 and level 4 equipment in a level 5 environment
It seems to me that the only problem is the side that was massacred.
It shouldnât be too difficult for a newcomer to use the terrain to avoid tanks, right?
The only problem for newcomers may be that they are tortured by the infantry of veteran players.
I think the gear has the least to do with the blowout games. It mostly has to do with the skill gap of the players involved. We really need a skill based MM if we want to have any kind of balanced game, cause as it goes now its allways the top 1-3 player on each team who just rack up 100+ kills while most barely get to 20 at best.
The top 25% and the bottom 50% of the players in this game are just so far apart in terms of skill, that this skillgap in itself screws the MM regardless of gear restrictions.
On Japan i still carry the Type 38 Arisaka Rifle for my riflemen and engineers in BR III and i score very good and get a lot of kills with it on my Engineer squads even against BARs and M1 Garands which are far superior weapons, and im 100% sure that there are guys here on the forum who would score top in BR V even with pistols only.
There probably isnât a single quick fix. Itâs probably going to take a combination of ideas to improve matchmaking (MM). These are the ideas gleaned from everybody in this thread:
-
The current BR system.
-
Play-to-win & casual game-play options.
-
Separating stacks of players from individual players.
-
Skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) system.
Thatâs a combination of four different systems to resolve a good percentage of the problems we are still experiencing.
I think the simpler way is to retain the current four categories and then add an assessment mechanism
Level 1 can only use equipment below level 3
Specifically for novices and casual players with equipment below level 3
(Forced upgrade after unlocking 5 pieces of level 3 equipment to reduce the number of killers who specialize in dealing with idiots)
Level 2 can use level 5 equipment
Specifically for casual players who donât want to fight seriously
(Win 20 consecutive games or get the top 2 in 15 consecutive games to force an upgrade to reduce the number of killers who specialize in dealing with idiots)
Level 3
Designed to give players with some abilities and good combat skills a better combat environment.
(Players who have won 30 consecutive games or ranked first in 15 consecutive games can choose to upgrade)
4
Only expert combat environment (when the number of people is insufficient, arrest people from level 3)
I think the pistol playerâs teammates are worse than the AI
Obviously itâs not just the gear. The gear imbalance is linked to the player imbalance
Very often the team with good(ish) players will bring meta max BR lineup and stomp the dregs with random garbage on the other team
Obviously good players would probably win against even (bad) BR5 team while using only optimised BR1 stuffâŚthe problem is so far its almost always that the better team also has drastically better gear
So not only are the inexperienced players getting outplayed by people with more map and gameplay experienceâŚthey are also trying to fight them with starter carbines that are so weak you need two good hits to kill a fully upgraded guyâŚwhile the experinced guy is blasting them with a fully upgraded semiauto or something like an FG 422
Strict +1/-1 matching could make it slightly less of an issue (or it could be 1-2, 2-4, 4-5) I think BR1 is just way too weak to deal with BR3 and BR3 is often way too weak to deal with a proper BR5 stack. I donât really respect BR4 all that much lol. Then againâŚplenty of newbies seem to completely misunderstand the concept, given how many times I see a Ho-Ri blow up an M13 or an A13 or M2A4 or other nonsense
Personnaly i never played on high BR as i mostly like to use the iconic WW2 stuff and around BR II-III players tend to have allright gear on even the potatoes, but i can guess that many player take a single BR V event/prem squad with low BR stuff and that might amplify the skill issue even more ( i base this on WT since there i often see Shermans T-34s and Tiger I with my Leopard 2A6 and Leopard 2A5 lineup)
But what i see is that the general awareness of some players of lower skill is just close 0, and that + the lack of tactics what leads to the blow-out games.
