dynamic of the whole game changes with more human players and different balance. some mechanism may be necessary and some might not be.
also standardized tickets arent good idea. sometimes weaker team needs a push to have chance at winning. if you make them standardized, over 90% of the matches can be predicted at the start. just look at normandy. on some maps germany gets ~100 reinforcements, while allies get 200 or 300 and considering number of human players in both teams you can get some tight matches. but i agree that they need to be known. also balance needs to be per match basis and not per global stats
messing with unlimited defender tickets could lead to unpredictable meta changes and those experimentations are better left for mods and events.
that is why i think this needs to be revisited post merge cause there will be meta changes cause of BR and more human players.
Hey I think what you have to say is fair, no problem. you could even be right.
I get that weaker teams may need a push to have a chance at winning. And that’s sort of what I am trying to address with attrition
attackers aren’t strong enough to get on point quickly enough or in enough force - attrition becomes is an option (right now if attackers are weak they get greyzone counter attacked all game, they will never get the advantage of extra reinforcements for being on the weaker side)
defenders aren’t strong enough to stop attackers, they get a chance and time to pre fortify and pre knowledge of the battlefield. (right now if defenders are too weak, they just get snowballed)
Its not perfect, but its an idea.
the idea being Dynamic advantage, Attackers start off inherently stronger, defenders get stronger the further into the game you go.
Trying to influence the mechanics to make sure the game doesn’t end on the first point, and tries to stop it from snowballing. Sure it still wont help if the skill variance between both sides is insurmountable, but up to that point It will change a bit.
I still think game mode changes and such like this are best tested as events. At the very least, the suggestion can allow them to build an event mode that would help test various aspects of the different mechanics.
I don’t think any part of the suggestion as a whole is irrelevant in that way.
