Allow Use of Binoculars and Personal Weapons in Open-Top Tank Destroyers

There are numerous vehicles in the game that claim “the design of this vehicle does not allow the use of personal weapons” whenever you try to use one. While this does make sense on some vehicles like anti-air vehicles, the majority of the time it does not make sense for open-top tank destroyers like the M8, M10, and M18. For many of these vehicles there is no real reason that you shouldn’t be able to use your personal weapon as the commander, and the restriction just makes the already vulnerable vehicles even more helpless against infantry.

If it was just a restriction on weapons though, I wouldn’t be as bothered, but what is really annoying is that this also prevents you from using binoculars. Why? Binoculars are perhaps the single most helpful item to have for a tank commander, and not being able to use them on vehicles that are specifically designed for fighting enemy tanks is severely detrimental to their ability to actually engage enemy vehicles at long range. This really needs to be fixed in order for these vehicles to be viable.

…wait you guys actually use bino’s? Lol
With the M18 I can definitely see how trying to bring up your own firearm can be quite difficult unless you’re whipping out a pistol. You got a big ol M2 right in front of your face! I’d imagine trying to pull a gun up through that tight of a space wouldn’t be fun

Especially considering the grips on it are already constantly digging into the commander in game. Also it’s funny how his hands aren’t even on the grips because of how close to him they are

No one ever said tanks had plenty of leg room. Lol

I know with the Soviets the T34 was so cramped that they actually specifically chose shorter servicemen to crew them. Also probably why they had a lot of female tankers

It was also near impossible to escape it if it got shot due to that fact too

They really need to add bino options, TD without longer range is handicapped, binos are an option on Big Action, it is a game changer!

The fact that the Su76 and DMax have periscopes and you can clearly see them, but can’t use them is quite frustrating.
