I hate medics as they have bad stats and can’t carry large ammo pouches. 120 rounds is not enough for me. Especially without engy to build ammo boxes. If they could carry 2nd weapon it wouldn’t be so bad even with suboptimal stats.
May I propose something different? Hear me out:
Lets take the “Volkssturm Rifle” weapon class from the VG 1-5, rename it into “Carbine” and then apply it to the carbine weaponry of the game.
Here are (probably a incomplete and debatable) list if weapons this should apply to:
- M1 Carbine,
- M1A1 Carbine,
- M2 Carbine,
- M2A1 Carbine,
- VG 1-5,
- G 43 (8mm Kurz)
Reasoning:
Historicly, the US Carbines were designed (amongst other troops) with drives in mind, be they tankers, truck drivers or APC drivers. These troops should have a small, light weight weapon for self defence, but something larger and more combat-effective than a pistol (remember, the M1 Carbine was designed during a time when a SMG, as in the Thompson, was not as lightweight or easy to carry as they would have liked, hence why just waiting for the Greese gun was not an option).
Therefor, I have always found it weird that tankers and APC drivers were never able to take or use carbines, which is a historical failiure on the part of the game, as these weapons were specificly designed for them!
As for Assault rifles, there’s a good case to be made that they (or at least APC drivers) should have access to them. I’d be fine with that, though I think it would be more interesting if they weren’t, and stayed a Assaulter exclusive, and have the new Carbine-class of weaponry be the “Everymans gun”.
As for the German equipment (VG 1-5 and the G 43 Kurz), I think they should be classified as carbines simply to let Germany have access to similar weapon classes, and I’d be alright with other factions receiving similar treatment with some weapons that are also intermediate-to-smaller weapons without pistol-grips. That’s another thing, I think the difference between Carbines and Assault Rifles should be in if they’ve got pistol-grips or not, but that is also just my own feelings on the matter.
These “Carbines” Would of course then be equipable on every class in the game, just as the current “Volkssturm Rifle” class is.
You should make seperate suggestion about it.

Premium APCs are completely P2W, they should give two more specializations to TT APCs, also TT APCs should be moved to BR1.
Not sure about events, they have many advantages, universal cariar is too small and that German APC has 75mm cannon. But they should replace medics with assaulters, also I think the 5th person could be fair.

I don’t know, I honestly don’t see the difference. It happens quite often that I survive capturing some objective with an APC squad. So then I drive the APC to the other one. And the distance to the next one is about the same as when you spawn a fresh APC.
And I’ll remind you that respawn points can’t always change quickly, and you’re faced with the fact that instead of 150 meters you’re driving 300 meters or running on foot.
It’s infuriating.

This is an extremely specific situation. Plus, it’s not always the safest thing to immediately go on at this point with an APC, as it can be destroyed by soldiers withdrawing from previous point- I’m speaking from personal experience.
In my opinion, it’s better to have several options than a wheelchair.
No, no more classes with Assault Rifles. Assault Rifles should stay for Assaulters, and while at it remove from anyother class that can use em.
We need more limitation on ARs and top Autos not hand out more.

It will break immersion with Driver armed like a Asaulter, and in there takes away from the assaulter class, and the driver should just be that - a Driver.
The other Idea is better, give them Carbine which just like in case with M1 carbine was the intent and how if also was used, for second line and support soldiers.
We don’t need eased limitations on AR spamm, I for one would like them removed from Medics aswell.
I would like to see them only on Assaulters.
