Agreed. It’s a problem. You should always as a defender be able to reasonably counter them. Making the mechanic much more interesting.

This class is pretty useless (not exaggerating) in many occasions if you can’t put down a rally.

Lol. You know that’s about at least 3 min? As I said. I agree with you, parachute planes are too short in the air.
Maybe double their time in air will do, alternatively making them more visible for the enemy team (markers).


PPL who never used paratroopers and complains about them will soon realize something (when paratroopers will become available for everyone after the merge).
There’s nothing really game-breaking about them. It’s 50-50 if you’re successful and the safe way to go is to pick your ordinary squads to be fair.

The only scenarios when they’re really useful are when the battle has stalled and you need keys to turn the tide. Or if you manage to time your jump just when your team unlocked the next objective.

Other than that? Meh.
Very well implemented in my opinion and they’re very fun, at least!

Not to mention it’s extremely easy to know when a para plane is inbound… it’s extremely noisy AND has flak explosions surrounding it (that also make noise)…

I never had a problem countering them. It’s the same as any squad I face. If they are crazy enough to drop directly on where we already are… they generally don’t touch the ground alive…

I hope we will see more of them unlocked in normal progression: they are very fun.

Well said. The biggest issue is just they spawn a little too quickly, that’s all. There’s still minor changes they can make, but flight time is still the biggest problem in my opinion

YES, the paratroopers need to be slowed down in their plane. its basically impossible to react in a reasonable way.
Most people havent played often enough against them, especially not against competent users to see how unbalanced the current calling speed is.

Even easier comparison: Fighter planes got nerfed to the ground by being RIDICULOUSLY slow after spawning, having to fly 3500 m, while paraplanes are there instantly and drop their troopers after around 7 seconds.

I think Enlisted could benefit from a more in depth tutorial that goes beyond the basic mechanics of the game and teaches them more advanced stuff. Such as how to build rallies and use engineers more effectively, use AT and AA weapons properly, and how to fight particular enemies effectively such as paratroopers.

I’d like to make a parallel with spawn speed here, as it seems to be ppl’s biggest issue…

  • How long does it take for a squad to spawn from a rally point without queue, vs how long does it take for a paratrooper to reach the ground:

It’s in fact LONGER for paratroopers… their only advantage is they are able to choose WHERE they will land, and are vulnerable all that time.

Ppl think they are overpowered because of the new premiums. But they’re not that different in that sense from 5 mg42 guys. Bit p2w true, as they have more weaponry than available for regular squads… But not that exaggerated.

True, I would still advocate for a longer spawn time not only because I think it’s a little too fast but also because it makes it more cinematic.

At the same time, those who complain about the Thompson 100 are forgetting two things. On the other side of the spectrum, you have the Krieghoff rifle, which comes with all of the advantages of the FG42 but with almost no recoil. Second, soon the Thompson 50 and M1921 will both be available in Normandy for free players and will be just as painful as the Thompson 100.

That’s your own interpretation. You can have 100 people read any given story, and you’ll have 100 different perspectives and observations. And what exactly do you mean, when you use the word emotional? Emotions range across the entire spectrum, from happy, angry, hopeful, sad, excited, bummed out, content, anxious, satisfied, guilty, confident, jealous, etc., etc…
So if you’re simply observing a person who has emotions, congratulations for you!

Just because you’re incapable of providing short clips/example to the forum, doesn’t justify an excuse to citicize anyone who can. Over a period of time, I’ve used a wide variety of clips to demonstrate tips for new players, suggestions for the developers, and evidence of exploits that can be watched by anybody who cares to click the play button. And I used to record clips to submit bug reports… and we all know why they moved it to a new website

I’m fluent with using Adobe Premier video editing software, so it’s no trouble for me to record my xbox clips and email them to my laptop. (Which I can convert into an appropriate file size, that’s compatible with this forum).

And just because you say ā€œthey don’t mean anythingā€ā€¦ doesn’t mean it’s a fact. It’s only your opinion.

I have no qualms with anyone who enjoys using them. I have simply asked for them to be balanced. In their current state, veteran players are completely using them to exploit matches/win games.
And as far as ā€œinsulting othersā€ā€¦ the only people I am hostile towards, are the people who’ve been trolling/harassing me on the forum for months. It’s only a small group, while everybody else I am chill with.

If you see me hostile towards someone… it’s probably because we have history, and that person has previously attacked me with personal insults that I’ll never forget, nor forgive.

Just because you’re ignorant of the past, and are observing these same people play the ā€œvictim cardā€ as they accuse me of being the aggresor… All I can say is that you’re just being played like a fiddle, and are unable to see the manipulation.

your calculation is incomplete:
it takes A LOT OF WORK to build and keep up a rally, resulting in loss of attack speed for the set up.
paratroopers dont have any setup at all.
also paras can be called after capping a point and saving yourself 250 m of running, which is an absolutely extreme advantage. rally points dont even compare to any of these 2 advantages.

fun fact: its obv how much faster paras are, since 95% of all players cant activate their frontal cortex to be patient for 12 seconds to build a rally, but almost everyone went full soyface-fingerpointing mode once the paratroopers were announced → they are so much faster, that the enlisted low-attentian span players

I can agree that we need some restrictions for paras like - no jumps on point. but all what is sugested is just some blind rage.

And those Video is a joke for newbies who dont know that AP mine can be placed on rally and full Squad will be blown up in less then a second.

In fact paradrop take some time and mostly same amount of time which needed to run 100+m, and y can see paradrop. And i want to remind that defenders can spawn on point, but they dont…

All the problem that i can see in paratroopers is when people begin to abuse them but the same i can see in flamers, AoE damage, MG nest, snipers - system is broken… and when big amount of people begin to abuse some meсhanics the game breaks down.

For the most part, yeah. Paras aren’t perfect. However, you cannot look me in the eye and tell me that paras are worse than anything we’ve had before. I mean does anyone remember how awful and toxic AA guns used to be, both SPAA and the 20mm quadmount?

And for a current example, attack aircraft. They can single-handedly clear an objective in seconds with little to no warning, something paras cannot do. And unlike paras, it is near impossible to fight back against an aircraft in the middle of an attack run. Unless you already have a fighter in the air or an AA gun set up, you’re screwed. Just gotta hope those rockets somehow don’t hit you.

I don’t know. I could care less about paras when I’m still being blown to pieces every few minutes.

P-47 + p-39 (all rockets from AIRPLANEs is brainless weapons that wipes squads) or premade squad of flamers… and my favorite team that should atack consists from tanks aircrafts snipers mortars and radiomen, but we can see how author of that topic is saying that paratroopers is the BIGGEST PROBLEM.
