Well, PPSH41 and MP717 is a bad example because they are the same gun, what you mean is the MP41r, because it actually has a visible magazine adapter for 9mm rounds, so that is actually a real modification and not just the same gun.
Outside of captured KV tanks with German guns, most captured tanks stayed unaltered.
Why make that matter, that KV is actually widely known among German tank enthusiasts.

They literally do have different model, different textures, different stats.
I couldn’t care less they’re both the same gun. It’s not lazy copy paste and both are quite unique from each other.
Bad examples are Soviet AT launchers.

Mainly just to keep a consistent rule. The moment you allow a captured modified KV, then I don’t see any point in not allowing all captured vehicles - after all, unmodified captured vehicles would have been the standard and were certainly more numerous than the sole modded KV. And since I dont want those vehicles being made available and consequently all factions ending up being the same, I’d rather not step on the slippery slope.
For USSR SU-76i and for Japan captured British Matilda II infantry tanks and adapted them into the Type 2 Ho-I for infantry support duties.
