Japan is well known for using a scope on their LMG, this could be a cool feature and selling point for the faction. Fill up the role of auto-sniper rifle which Japan is lacking.

Type Ko or Type Hei rifles with scopes - These rifles appear to have a side rail on the left. Not much evidence of it being used with a scope attached IRL, but in the fantasy world of Enlisted, where failed test and prototype weapons can have a place to shine, I don’t think this is much of a problem.
Scoped Type 97 LMG - To make it different from BR 2 Machine Gunner class Type 97 LMG, maybe this variant will use the tank version, with a barrel covered. Or make the BR 2 Machine Gunner class Type 97 LMG without a scope so both aren’t the same.
BR 4
Scoped Type 96 LMG - More magazine size than the Scoped Type 97 LMG and a bayonet.
BR 5
Scoped Type 99 LMG - More fire rates than the Scoped Type 96 LMG and a bayonet.
Type Hei Auto with a scope - 20-round variant. I’m not sure about this one, might be too much made up.
All of the Japanese semi-auto variants from the 1930s had some sort of scope mount, Type Hei included. It isn’t a stretch at all to have them with mounted scopes included in the game.
I’d rather not deal with more “sniper” StG’s, thanks
Excuse me? You want these things as low as III? Frick nah
Yeah guys let’s just give snipers a bunch of LMG’s. That makes sense. Everyone knows the most experienced of snipers don’t use a trusty, long range, accurate rifle to get the job done. Nah, they use a WWII LMG to nail their targets with suppressive fire!
Aight so when are we gonna get a Browning M2 with a scope on it for counter fire?
I don’t really think Sniper class in this game is supposed to be played as a real sniper, more like a designated marksman. I’m talking from Japan faction’s perspective where they not much utilize of using a sniper rifle but a designated marksman using scoped rifle and machine gunner with scoped LMG which is quite unique to them and I want these aspects to be represented, would be interesting feature for the faction differentiate from others.
M2 Browning is HMG. Correct comparison should be can BAR, Bren, Johnson, M1919A6 be attached with a scope? If it does then it would be interesting to get represented as well. I’m sorry but I think your comparison might not have enough weight, Japan LMG with scope is what that they were occasionally used, but in the USA case?
Yes, what I’m about to paste is from Wikipedia
No, I do not care
The M2 machine gun has also been used as a long-range sniper rifle when equipped with a high-powered telescopic sight. Soldiers during the Korean War used scoped M2s in the role of a sniper rifle, but the practice was most notably used by US Marine Corps sniper Carlos Hathcock during the Vietnam War. Using an Unertl telescopic sight and a mounting bracket of his own design, Hathcock could quickly convert the M2 into a sniper rifle, using the traversing-and-elevating (T&E) mechanism attached to the tripod. When firing semi-automatically, Hathcock hit man-size targets beyond 1,800 metres (2,000 yd)—twice the range of the standard-caliber sniper rifle of the time (a .30-06Winchester Model 70). Hathcock set the record for the longest confirmed kill at 2,250 metres (2,460 yd), a record which stood until 2002, when it was broken in Afghanistan by Canadian Army sniper Arron Perry.[69]
Interesting trivia. So your point of bringing up the scoped M2 HMG to counter Japan’s scoped LMG was purely sarcastic? Because it isn’t in the scope of WW2.
I like the idea of adding a BRIII semi auto sniper or BRIV. But giving LMG to snipers is kinda lame. I want to keep my scoped LMG on BRII for machinegunner.
Maybe this way, scoped LMG could be folded under the normal tech tree ones so it’s not intervene with the Sniper class’s boundary and leave the scoped Type Ko or Hei for Sniper III.
