Add the M1928A1 Thompson open sight to USA and USSR TT

What is that Squad down there?

We already have the thompson for the soviet in a event squad so just wait for the box to get it

I think they should add the 50round version of the Soviet Thomson to the American TT, it’s very difficult for me to aim with what’s currently in the American BR5.

Separating the British and Italian trees is dumb and you know it. All that will do is needlessly clutter the menus, spread out the playerbase and make people research the same weapons and vehicles multiple times.

Just treat them like sub factions, like is done in WT, give them their own lines of research.

Though I do agree, that I dont mind the soviets getting more lend lease vehicles/equipment, people tend to forget quite how widespread lend lease equipment was.

Valid points.

I just think the Soviets really dont need it at the moment, especially when the Western Allies are the weakest faction.

Add Lewis gun, M3 Halftrack, Mathilda and M3 Lee to the USA-UK tech tree and then we can start talking about Thompsons in USSR tree

But Im glad you agree for separate UK and Italy trees.

Also just on BSA, recall that there are no more Gold Orders. I think its a shame to miss out on them and we’ve all been asking for a 20 round Thompson for BR II USA so why not the BSA one?

As I said earlier, the Lanchester was never actually used in combat per say yet we have that as a standard infantry weapon (and I also acknowledged that theoretically a Royal Navy or other Allied naval vessel when in combat some of the sailors might have had Lanchesters but its not like anyone ever landed on a beach with one and went around shooting it same as Thompson, Sten or Owen)

I disagree.

First of all who said anything about researching the same vehicles and weapons?

There have been many, many posts of suggested UK-Commonwealth and Italian + Minor Axis tech trees.

Some are better than others, but the fact remains that there is clearly more than enough tech for UK and Italy to stand on their own.
Especially when we factor in the Commonwealth and Other Axis Nations weapons. Not to mention future editions from other countries like Greece, Yugoslavia or Norway.

France-Poland-Netherlands-Belgium I have argued should be in their own tree together but thats another topic.

If we take the Thompsons for instance, Id say just give each side the Thompsons they used more often. We dont need like 6 different Thompsons in the one tech tree.

The M1928A1 and I forget the name but the Thompson with the front grip ‘gangster style’ to my knowledge were more used by the British.
Whereas the M1 and M1A1 was more USA.

They could also add different Sten variants or Owen variants.

The main thing is that you have at least one weapon for each BR. Note that BR IV for instance most trees only have that.

For British automatic rifle, easy, Turner SMLE and Reider automatic rifle. They could also maybe add the Charleton.

The British shouldnt be starting with the Springfield anyway, give em an earlier SMLE or just start with P14, theres various options.

As many have discussed, we dont need three different BARs at the one BR when the latter two are clearly worse than the BARA2.

Tanks and planes, just look at WT the British and Italians have plenty of their own. We also have instances like M3 Lee/M3 Grant, just do it like real life and let the Yanks have the Lee and the UK-Commonwealth use the Grant.
As we see from WT even the British Stuarts were actually a bit different to the American ones.

Off the top of my head the only things that may need to be ‘copied’ would be the bazooka (remembering that the British do have the PIAT as well) and maybe the Boys for BR I USA. In saying that I know some people have found alternatives for an early American AT rifle like a .50 cal.

Thats before we even consider unlocking something in one tree unlocks it in the other, or maybe gives 25% or 50% credits towards research.

Im getting rather tired of people screaming Copy Paste when they clearly havent thought about what would actually go in each tree.

I also find it really interesting that you whinge about USA and UK sharing maybe 1 or 2 items, and yet here you are calling for the Soviets to get unnecessary copy paste USA tech???

Sub factions should be for minor powers like the Commonwealth countries, or Hungary and Romania within Italy.

The Allied tree is currently too biased towards USA and will only be messy and cluttered if we start adding folders left right and center.

I should mention to that the playerbase wont be spread too much since the majority of existing maps USA and UK would just queue together.
But it also opens up the opportunity for more maps/theatres for those instances where USA and UK did not fight together, especially the early war and later war Pacific.

+1000 for allies lewis

I dont see why soviets need any thompsons. TT thompsons start at BR 3 (soviet SMGs are already S tier on most BRs, they dont need to borrow another factions).

Thompsons should be the Allied Flavour, and Soviets stick to PP

That last point of your is seriously convincing, honestly I think I will step back from my stance there. I think a world where they would normally work together with a couple UK or US specific maps sounds fantastic, however I do think there should be a tutorial to explain what might otherwise be a confusing mechanic to new players.

However there is absolutely weapons both used which would have to be in each others trees, which in turn means you would be researching the same things again, however with the state the grind is atm, I think I could live with that.

thanks!
Oh this weapon, I rarely see it in battle.

Me neither  I don’t use that squad as much as I used to since I have three level two Thompson squads and the Hyde 35 squad, so it ends up being my fourth option, so it rarely gets used. However, I love the gun, just don’t use it much anymore. That being said, I don’t play Allies near as much as I used to.

Srry but you talking shit and are wrong. It would mean LESS cluttering both speaking of Squads and Tech trees, and it would solve recruiting right nationality for your Squads I.e British Soldiers for British Squad etc, so customisation.
And most of all more variation and uniqueness to the different factions, I.e more fun

It would be nice to have

Heresy! Just need to aim for upper chest and hit the head on the 2nd-3rd shot. It really is quite solid if you use it extensively

Give me my favorite armored vehicle already darn it!
