Add a texture folder for modders to use ( made by devs )

greetings,

i’ll start by saying that… i understand this is probably not really a priority.

but, something that virtually anyone can benefit from.

so, today’s request, is to add a .dpx.bin texture folder / file made by officials for modders to use in their mods.

what i’m essentially talking about, ( and what this folder should contain )

are:

- basic colors textures

something like;

so, essentially, i’m talking about solid colors,

( and if possible, would be great doubletones etc but let’s just start with simple colors )

- basic camouflages textures:

the ones used on many USSR, GER, USA & Japan clothings.

just the color / template used to make those clothing without the markings. would allow for modders to make new and high quality clothings ( without problems that i will address later )

Base Textures ( mostly of metal, clothing such as leather, wool, etc )

self explanatory. so, for example, these:

essentially, if possible, the texture / pattern that devs of the cosmetic teams uses to do their clothings
without markings, markings, nothing at all. just the clean texture

so… it’s nice and all, and some of you may be wondering;

Why ?

well, i’m kinda sick that we have to go through more than 2000 textures files just to find something that we want to use to color our weapons, outfit, or vehicles.

and, this lunatic here ( me ) went through 70% of the textures just to realize how tideous and long the process can be ) and not even being able to use colors that she wanted to use or seek to begin with.

so, i’ll show the issue that an averange modder has to find the color that he / she wants for their tools.

.> find the item that you want to change the color to:

,mh… let’s see:

.> try to find the dpx of the file that you want
( which, sometimes it’s a challenging task of it’s own. good luck finding for example the exact japanese pants or germany texture for the pants 1 & 2. more or less )

.> find a suitable texture.

.> lose your self among the files of each textures in separate dpx files.

*still didn’t managed to find to this day, simple blues orange, yellows, cyan, pink, etc.

the closest that i found, were:

which looks ugly. or out right not a solid color.

or, in other instances, you do find the camouflage. but it wasn’t suited for all type of clothings. so you find artifacts:

or even just to make some regular civilian clothings:

looks ugly… and we do not have much of a choise when it comes to retexture.

which it’s a shame, because many things can be made with it:

but they look like made out of plastic.

so…

the base idea would be,
modders, if they need to color armbands or, clothings / vehicles / weapons with various LORE friendly textures in one place easy to access rather than having to view more than 50 files to view some basic textures.

this way, it would be both easier for modders and developers to use / get access to.

Considerations.

yes, i’m well aware that at some point, modders will be able to upload their own thing.

but that’s probably in a far future.

and, as previously specified:

LORE friendly textures

meaning that, would be much better as those comes directly from the game / textures that dev uses for the game.

to reproduce other clothings using same patterns and colors ( without the lines if possible. designed for those clothing. i presume used devs layers for it )

and it would prevent the usage of different textures that wouldn’t suit as were designed for something else.

so to speak, remaining official.
without going their way.

as… i still don’t understand why we don’t have basic colors.

in conclusion

so yeah, that’s all.

a small suggestion.

should be relatively easy.

it doesn’t need to have 2000 textures inside, just some basic color with couple of varients, some type of metals ( that most likely will be used for guns ) and other type of texture / pattern and camouflaged used for clothings.

that’s all.

thanks for hearing me out.

it would essentially speed things up for modders, and allow them to use a variety of colors that would normally take ages to find or even get one that someone needs in the first place.
